well if youre happy then obviously you are following the right religion - that is, if part of the religion is to be happy. But then comes the question if what the RIGHT RELIGION really is....just do whatever you want as long as its ethical and you are happy =)

You can only ask if someone can be happy if someone is following a religion that is not right for them. If they know it's not right for them, they'll never be happy.

I can't understand how anyone could follow a religion that leaves them unhappy in life and expect it to make them happy in death.

Define the "right religion". One can only be happy f the religion they choose fulfills the needs of their own soul. If you are being fulfilled, then you probably are not going to be happy. There are so many religions in the world today, all claiming to be the true one path to God. They all have their reasons for believing they are right, can you honestly tell them there are not? Can you prove it? Doubtful anyone can.

As long as your Karma is good and in line with the Universal laws (Dharma) - you do not need to follow any religion. Even if you do not believe in the existence of God and be doing good Karma - you are on the right path - religion or no religion...

God is a mighty God and does not get angry or upset or terrorise or purge you in hell if you do not follow the words mentioned in a couple of books...

The primary and only duty of mankind is to do all action of love and for love...

How the hell are we supposed to know which religion (if any) is "right"? The question doesn't make any sense at all.

Everyone should follow whatever religion suits them without fear of persecution from others. In that same light, no one should harass others for their held abstract beliefs. That's the way it should be. Figure out what works for you and makes you happy.

There is no one religion that holds all the truths of God's will. Therefore, the "right religion" depends upon the person. If you're happy with atheism, keep at it. I'm happy with Catholicism.

We are all following the right religion for us, which may be different for someone else. It may be a religion, or it may be spirituality without organized religion. Hopefully we're open-minded enough for this to allow our happiness.

If you are not on the the path that is correct for you you will not be as happy as if you were. That could be a religious path or a path devoid of any religious belief. Human beings continually strive to find happiness and I believe few ever reach of state where they are truly happy at every moment.
