It's proper to send them out within a month after your return from your honeymoon.

It really depends on if you are waiting to include pictures with some of the thank you cards and when those pictures will be arriving. You can go for as long as 3 months but longer than that is considered to be bad taste and against etiquette.

I recently read in the Dear Abby column that the one year rule is way off base, it should be done in a month or two. It's been 3 weeks for me and I just finished them all. But, I got to write them while I work :)

I've actually heard up to 2 months, however I wouldnt wait that long. If you have a shower (or receive gifts) before the wedding you should try to get them out before the wedding. If they are gifts from the wedding try to get them out within two weeks of returning from your honeymoon. If they are already late, just get them out asap. Better late than never.

I believe you have upto six weeks. This will allow you to relax during your honeymoon and enjoy the first few weeks of your marriage. The people who will be receiving thank you notes, know that it will take a while for you to recover from the wedding 'madness.' Take your time and don't get overwhelmed.

i always read that you have a year but try to get it done with in a month from getting back from your honeymoon
