To be my friend and partner. To tell me the truth at all times, and stand at my side against adversity. To show me respect just as I would show him respect.
I also enjoy that he laughs at my jokes, thinks I'm funny, smart and sexy and that I can do anything I put my mind to. Being able to laugh together can get you through most of the really bad times, and really adds to the good times.
I think marriage is a 60-60 proposition. Both give 60% and expect 50%. It leaves room when one or the other needs more. (I've been married for 17 years, so it's working out pretty well so far...)

Be supportive,caring,taking care of kids,household,...also i would think that especially if she is a working woman then she needs her spouse to lend a helping hand at times and be considerate....And when husband gives her the time ,care. love, good communication between the two then its all happy and peace at home....2 people must work on the relation together to make it successful :)

expect nothing your spouse cannot expect from you, I would, if I were married and did, expect respect and honesty, and got more than even (as in served up revenge ice cold)

i expect him to love me and treat me with respect. for him to help take care of his kids, to be my best friend and lover. make sure he holds up his end of marriage as i hold up mine.
