My friend is overseas and he has a girlfriend that he really likes and he wants to keep the relationship going by bestowing gifts. What kind of gifts should he send and how often? I'm looking for answers besides the typical flowers and chocolates and it must be able to be bought online via credit card in the $50 - $100 range.

If he has to buy her love, she doesn't love him anyway, and is probably going to end up seeing someone else.
Tell him that letters, pictures, the occasional call, or even the occasional souvenier should be sufficient. Until it's time for her birthday, or xmas, then a nicer gift would be in order.
If she cares for him, that will be more than enough. If she is that material, that self-indulgent, then it's better he finds out now instead of later. Trying to buy someones love only gets you poor...not loved.
Let him know we all appreciate our boys, and girls, overseas.

1800flowers.com he can order her flowers and have them shipped from the states. He can send a case of MREs as a joke. Just remember that periodically letting her know he's ok is the best thing to do.
Oh, pictures are good too. Just not ones where he's harassing prisoners.

If he has to buy her love, then she is not worth it. Just by sending pictures, letters or even calling her should be enough for her.
