There is an entire denomination called Metropolitan Community Church that is 'officially gay'. Otherwise, there aren't any 'officially gay' churches that I know of, but yeah - if you see announcements of Holy Union ceremonies, as same-sex weddings are called, if you see a majority of same-sex couples standing together singing the hymns, or even holding hands, especially if the church is in a part of town which is popular among the gay community (and it will normally be a *very* nice part of town, I might add), then, well, there's your answer for you.

Since about 5 - 10 percent of any population are gays, then there is a 5 -10 % probability that any church you are in would have gays.

You will see in the newsletter announcements of services of holy union. You may see same-sex couples holding hands. And i'm presuming you mean a predominately-gay church. Where most of the members are gay. There are also gay-welcoming churches that welcome gays but most of the members are not gay. You may also find brochures about sexual orientation or workshops on things with gay themes. They often advertise in gay newspapers.

Ask a few people if they are gay or ask the preacher. Or you could go to the church's website.

Ask yourself this. Are you going to church to define its members or to worship God? What difference does it make who the people are in the building? Does message being preached fulfill the need in your soul or are you going out of of some predisposed determination that you have to go to church to know God?

There is no such thing as a gay church...or if there is, it's not worthy to hold the name "church"....
