In the book of Genesis, it is said that God created earth first then the sun, the moon and the stars at the fourth day, but God created the earth on the first day and even the plants on the third day? How could the plant live without the sun? Isn't this show the story is chronologically wrong? (And if you read, you will find more)

The bible is the Word of God, I was told. If it is God wrote it via men that He annointed, how could God dictate wrong message?

Genesis was written by men of faith, NOT by men of science. At that time there WERE no men of science.

Get a grip.

The whole book has only ONE intention. To show that there is only one God, that He is all-powerful and that He created everything. The how of that creation was relatively unimportant to them. They did the best they could with the knowledge and resources they have. Being blamed for it by you is like YOU being blamed for not knowing advanced calculus before you were out of diapers!

It's God baby! Why are you trying to make this into a Scientific or Chronologically wrong thing? The Earth was able to live b/c God created it and that's that. God created everything to his liking and it was good. He's the one that set the Earth to move and the stars to shine at night. No offense, but I just don't understand why people try to turn this into a Scientifically or Chronologically wrong situation. But it's good that you're reading the Bible and that you have questions. That's how you find out about God. Hope this helps you!

The Bible is not a scientific book yet it agrees with science.
(1) when the scientist figured the formula for our space rockets to
break earths gravitational pull without burning up they had to go
back to the Bible where sun stood still to add the twenty four
hours was missing in their formula.[Jos 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

(2) The scientific law of evaporation was found in the Bible.

(3)The Bible was used to realize that the earth wasn't flat.

(4)The Bible was what enabled the medical doctors realize that if
you bleed someone to much they will die.
Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

There is many many other discoveries that science could not have found if it wasn't for the Bible.

The introduction tale in Genesis is the only one from historic circumstances that holds up in cutting-element circumstances. different cultures around a similar time had the universe entering existence after a war of the numerous gods. normally the earth and human beings have been made via the triumphing gods from the physique areas of the ineffective gods. Kinda stupid. you need to comprehend- a million. The intro to Genesis replaced into written partly as a reaction to the pagan introduction myths 2. The introduction tale in Genesis is poetic 3. The introduction in Genesis tale teaches us approximately God, morality, and our place interior the universe 4. The introduction tale in Genesis isn't a technology lesson. Few poems are. (If any.) i'm hoping this helps. if so, you could sidestep destiny embarrassment via attempting to instruct technology from this or different poetical works. Have a effective day. First a simple "scientific" answer would be, because plants can survive without light for a length of time, at least several days.

Second, you clearly haven't read the passage because God created light on the first day before the plants so your question isn't valid.

Finally, God is the creator and sustainer of all life. So if he willed it then anything could live forever with nothing but him to sustain it.

If you go back and read He did create the earth and all other planets first but after He finished the universe He created dry land then plants and trees then animals then man. The bible isnt supposed to have all the facts because God said He created it and that settle it. Either you believe it by faith or you look for proof which means you dont. Dont make it hard bro.

If you think through the details of science, it actually is not our scientific understanding that the plants need the sun to live. They need LIGHT to live. Skilled scientists even have created indoor facilities, isolated from most all solar radiation, inside which plants grow. How can this be? Light created artifically, with light bulbs.

Go back and read that again. God made the light. The plants were able to live because they had light.

Further, God is compared to light itself. Just as we cannot live without light, we cannot live without God.

Have you ever thought that this was done for a reason?
It makes us dig deeper for the truth. The contradictions are beacons urging us to ask questions and seek the truth. You can call my answer crap or whatever you want but I think it is not by chance that there are contradictions. Further proof that the translators of the Bible did their job right. I mean why wouldn't they just fix the discrepencies when they translated the Bible to make everything sound logical?

God's presence is light he did it in Genesis HE will do it again in Revelation

Revelation 22:4-6
4They will see his (Jesus)face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. 6The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place."
