Exactly.
You only got two cheeks. It would be foolish to tell people to just suffering and never work for liberation or equality and that is exactly what is being said here. Eventually you are going to have to stand up and defend yourself.

The thing about turning the other cheek is that you can keep doing it: turn cheek, get smacked around, turn to the other, get smacked some more, turn back to the first and so on.
Maybe Jesus wanted everyone to be a martyr, like he was, or maybe a corrupt, monolithic church used that line and the line about the meek inheriting the earth to keep commoners in place while they taxed the hell out them and built their temples of gold by breaking the backs of simple folk. Oh, and they told people to shut up and not ask any questions, 'cause Eve screwed it all up for us by biting into the fruit knowledge - so knowledge is bad.
So, you can either keep turning cheeks, or just get out of the way of the next ***** slap.

Your question is a good one, yet you're a complete fool using the picture you have and your wording itself. But to answer that question I know from experience that I'm not going to keep turning the other cheek, but rather just get away from the negative person or persons. And I believe the saying what goes around, comes around.

If the person is not jesus then never do that ,and if he would be there he is not going to do it, secondly its not for u people dont make urself so much special. It is for those persons who r on the way to share their blessings with others.Dont befool urself look into ur inner being u will find a person inside always searching for the cheek of fools like jesus.
when one of the deciple of buddha was leaving for his jorney to Bihar,BUDDHA asked what will u do if people dont understand u and oppose u?He said-i will thank them that they r only opposin or abusing me not beating me.If they beat u?BUDDHA asked. He said then i will thank them for not killing me.BUDDHA asked if they will be on the verge to kill u,when almost u have died what feeling wiil flow through ur herat? He answered-Then i will thank them to release me from a great bondage of life in which their was the possibilities of some fault.Develop insights and drop the question.
love.

JESUS SAID ,"DO NOT CAST PEARL AFTER SWINE, THE SWINE WILL TRAMPLE THE PEARLS AND THEN TURN ON YOU'.
meaning, if someone hits you, stop expecting any other outcome except their hate to come from them. Shake the dust from your sandals and move on, knowing that God sees every sparrow when it falls;he will avenge the evil doers as he always has before and will not change for anyone or anytime to come. Praise God.

I would put it nicer but RandyGE pretty much speaks for me.
Why are taking your problems with racism out in this "religious & spiritual" site.
Both the native africans (non-Christian) the ethopians (non-christian) and americans (Chistian?) were involved. It was the protestant church in the North that started the "liberation" movement.

Do like what Jesus did when he saw them trading in church. Kick over the tables, bawl them out and wallop them good with a whip.

Turn your back to get lashed, then have your wife get raped, then your daughters (U.S. military in Iraq) and killed. Of course convert you to Christianity so you can accept his abuse w/ a smile and dance around like it's a night club and call it worship then play sports for his amusement and profit.

You are to turn the other cheek to let them hit that as well. As to your childishness I am not going into that.
