LESS THAN SOME PEOPLE THINK. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE CAR AND HOW WELL ITS ENGINEERED. ON MOST NEWER CARS, ITS CHEAPER TO RUN THE A/C AND KEEP THE WINDOWS UP RATHER THAN HAVE ALL THAT TURBULENCE FROM THE WIND.

Lets put it like this -- I drive a double-deck bus in th UK -- it is fitted with air con for the DRIVER ONLY. When that was switched on, you could hear the engine sound go down as the motor struggled to keep the power up on a V8 turbo diesel bus engine. The air con on those buses was the biggest reason that we had to sell them on.

Depends on the weather and the car.
It is a mere percentile.
(that means not that much you should worry about it. Ice cream to cool down is more expensive.)
