Do I need a DVD ReWriter drive or can I use a normal CD ReWriter drive? Also are VCD's burned onto CD-R's?
Thanks in advance.

yes vcd can be burned onto a cd-r(w), but that max length is about 1 hour. or you will lose quality
if you goto http://www.videohelp.com and then tools this has all the programs guides etc on how to make a vcd, also nero has the nice trick of making vcd's etc.
hope this helps.

you can burn vcd use CDR/RW disc or DVD/RW disc (but it is waste of space if you use DVD.
To burn CD/RW disc you can use either CDRW drive or DVDRW drive.
To burn DVD disc, you onlu can use DVDRW disc.
CD/RW means that CD disc consists of two type:
1. CDR: CD disc that only can be record once
2. CDRW: CD disc that can be record and erase, record and erase like your hardisk/diskette
