Police officers are tasing citizens for small reasons. Here is a video clip of a woman being tasered for nothing more than a traffic stop.

Twice I've used my taser, both times in situations where I previously would have used my gun. One time on a drug addict who was physically attacking me, the other on a pitbull that was attacking a child.

When used properly and judiciously, it is certainly a better alternative to bullets.

So perhaps we should amend your question with: "...or should they go back to shooting us with their guns?"

Would you rather be shot with a bullet?

Police officers are trained how to use and when to use the taser, and the majority of them are tasered as part of the training.

Yes, by all mean. If the officer make repeated commands that are not followed or feels threatened in any way he/she needs to take control of the situation. Its better then the incident leading into a physical altercation or one that requires a gun to be drawn.

Speeding SUV gets pulled over, woman refuses to follow police request to exit the vehicle. They did not use pepper spray or batons. The woman created her own difficult situation.

dang they lit her *** up lol
well I think it was a bit much maybe 20,ooo volts would have done it. Better then a bullet though. She should have had some respect.

50,000 volts, hell, make it 100,000!

In that video, the woman did not follow simple instructions and was punished for it. Her little phone call can wait.

Yeah, if that's all they got.
The cop told her to get out of the cars and she was still running her mouth on the cell, then she resisted arrest . Her should have kicked her, too.

really makes you wonder how they're applying the "minimal amount of force to subdue a suspect" rule....hey he looked at me funny, 50K volts to the heart and he'll forget i even kicked him while he was laying there helpless on the ground....

As much as I would hate being shocked, I think being shot would be a HELL of a lot worse!

Thats abuse of power (if they havent done anything wrong), I think they should make em limit their power. But obviously she refused to get out of her car.. Therefore shock her....
