I want to visit Nepal. Want to visit the nearest snowline. Can any one tell me how to go about from Kathmandu and the time taken from Kathmandu to snowline and back?

A lot of factors affect the answer to your question. What time of year? What specific altitude? What mode of transportation? I highly recommend touching base with one of the many travel and guide companies on the ground after arriving in Kathmandu as it is usually much more expensive to book in advance and there are always openings. In the summer season, you will most likely need to go about 15000ft or above to reach snow (be prepared for issues adjusting to altitude). There are some villages that can be reached by plane in the high passes and this would save you a great deal of time in the travel. If trekking, use a porter and anticipate taking at least a week to two depending upon your pace and physical condition just to get up there. Clearly the winter season would change this a great deal and make it more accessible. When arriving in Kathmandu, go to the area of town referred to as Thamel. This is tourist central and you will find the most travel and guiding agencies to plan your trip.
