Oh, good, an easy question. LOL. Want the latest from String Theory? Atoms are made up of nuclei and electrons. The nuclei are made up of protons and neutrons. Protons and neutrons are made up of quarks. Two up quarks and one down quark make a proton, two down quarks and one up quark make a neutron. Quarks are bound together by messenger particles called gluons. Gluons are referred to as the strong nuclear force. There are four forces. The other three are the weak nuclear force, which has to do with nuclear decay (radiation) whose "messenger" particles are the w- and z+ boson, the electromagnetic force (light) whose messenger particles are photons, and the gravitational force, whose theoretical particle is called the graviton (too weak to be detected with today's linear accelerators, or atom smashers if you like). Electrons, quarks, and other exotic particles like the neutrino, are collectively referred to as leptons ("light particles"). Leptons are theorized to be one dimensional strings (don't ask) that vibrate in 10 dimensions (including time) to manifest in our four dimensional universe with exactly the properties they have. If they didn't have exactly those properties, atoms couldn't form, and thus, no universe. The 7 dimensions that we can't detect are theorized to be so tiny that you'd need a linear accelerator about a light year in length (6 trillion miles) to maybe detect something, although it is also theorized that you'd need a linear accelerator the size of the known universe (28 billion x 6 trillion miles - it could be much, much larger, but light from beyond a 14.5 billion light year radius would not have reached us yet) to detect the hidden dimensions. I know you're asking a "rhetorical" question, but I'm big on rhetoric. And not once did I have to resort to the "G" word. Have a nice day.

Dear george,

The reason why all things work the way they do is because a Master Designer and Creator made them. The Lord (Jesus Christ) did not have to sit down with a calculator, protractor, ruler, and sketch board. He just spoke and brought this incredible universe into existance!! He is God and know everything! He did not have to take courses in astronomy and nuclear physics to create the sun--He just spoke. Incidently, the Lord created light before He created the sun! That is power. All of creation shouts of His majesty and glory! From the smallest particle within an atom to the furthest star that can be seen with a telescope, the wisdom and power of the Lord is manifest. If you would like further info typoe www.familyradio.com into yweb browser. I hope this will help you. From all that the Bible tells us, you may see Him face to face in 2011.

It's up to u to find out. Investigate, think, and, meditate.

Some things work because that's the nature. Gravity is attraction of one body to another. Atoms- energy, cells- evolution, these are physical sciences.

Thinking and meditation will show u that everything is changing all the time. So all these u mentioned are not what they were a second ago. NOT PERMANENT. U r NOT permanent. NOTHING is. That's life.

atoms are building blocks of the universe. Gravity exists to establish a constant on this planet of weight, thereby incurring order for all living things on earth and in heaven.

Because without gravity you wouldn't have been able to sit in your chair long enough to type your question.

Because it just so happens that the natural interaction of matter and energy allows the universe to be what it is.
