I think the wording may be different but the essence is the same.

Simple. The bible is the many times transcribed story of what was before Jesus and then the Jesus stories. The newest book in the bible is Revelations. It was written in 96 AD. Which means that John the apostle DID NOT write it but some dude named john. After all the average life span back then was about 35. John the apostle wouldv'e been over 100 years old. The bible is actually not a book but a library since it contains many books.
The bible was aslo started as an oral tradition. Since Jesus was not popular with the Romans and such possession of any written material for the longest time would put you to death. So even the firtst written copy of the bible can be wrong. Have you ever played the game "telephone line" one person says something into one persons ear and it gets passed on down the line till it gets back to you and it is no longer what was said.
I also believe that the word of any diety is to great and powerful to be written, just like hearing the voice of the creator, it is to powerful. The bible is the word of man written by man for man.
The devil has his own Bible if you will. Unless you recieved the Satanic Bible then you got one of the many printed versions of the bible.

While this question isn't exactly coherent, I'll answer it anyway. I personally have never seen any evidence that the bible is not the God inspired truth. The bible is perfectly harmonious with itself, you will not find any verse that conflicts with another verse so long as it is all taken in context. Perhaps you are referring to differences between a 2000 year old copy and brand new copy? Well there are no significant differences, certainly a change from Greek to English may have small differences that do not change the meaning of the text though if that is what you are referring to. As for trusting your heart and intellect, I would have to quote the bible to explain why this is not legitimate.
Here you go, an incoherent answer for an incoherent question.

The King James Bible was researched and studied by men who were in separate places and then from time to time would get together and compare notes and decide the best translation. I believe it is that translation and only that one that God gave to the English speaking world.
As for the differences, of course there are. The Gospels, for example, were written by men of God moved by His Spirit in their own writing styles. It's like seeing a story from many points of view, which I think is wonderful.
Some other translations will change verses to take out certain things that are no longer culturally acceptable or mean what they would like it to mean, but God is not honored nor do I believe He recognizes these.

As I am sure you are well aware, the mind can be tricked into believing anything. Can you prove that you in fact exists to me? Therefore how can you trust your own heart and intellect? No, therefore we must have faith. Faith by it's very definition denies proof.
I'm not familiar with the book you mention however other such pieces I've read have taken different translations and compared
them thereby finding "inconsistencies". However, if this book were so flawed how has it stood for more than 2000 years as the basis of belief for the majority of the world's populace? Further more how could it have survived the scrutiny of men of far superior abilities than you and I possess?

Among truth, untruth exists. The bible is full of wisdom but is also full of deceit. One must learn to diseminate between the two, through their own growth in wisdom.
Plus the dead sea scolls found other potential books of the bible that few know anything about. HUMANS have written, picked, and choosed what is put in this book. Each human has his or her own motives or beliefs, therefor the main objective is to get an overall point of view. (A contextual viewpoint, not a literal one)
If one chooses a literal view point the age old debate comes up of... Eye for an eye? but what about Turn the other cheek?

Thats what the Moslims say.The Bible has been changed. It has been changed by some priests and many other people for their own profit.Thats why God sent a new religion Islam and a new book Quran. And it is evident and proved that even a single word of Quran has not been changed. So,if you want real words of God.You can read Quran.Forget about Bible. It realy has been changed.

I have a suggestion. Buy four books on the Civil War. Read all four and compare their versions of history. You'll find many variations in the stories, contradictory statements, etc, even within the same texts!!
Then you'll begin to understand that all history is a matter of prespective, supposition, personal biases, personal opionion, education, intellligence, dilligence in research, etc., etc., etc.
But John 3:16 seems pretty clear to me, so I wonder how you interpret it? Without that I really don't know that you do have a different interpretation from mine.

There isn't any evidence to back that statement up. The bible is the word of God.
My question to you is do you believe in Jesus? In God? In Satan? You seem to spend a lot of time trying to question God. Why do this for someone you don't believe in? I mean I do not believe in a lot of things, but I don't spend my time trying to question their beliefs. If you are here to learn, and seek answers, then so be it, but your reference to Darwin suggests either a belief in evolution, or just trying to stir up mischief.
I know of many scriptures that can be misinterpreted, but John 3:16 isn't one of them. You can do better. I still believe that your heart is giving you fits, because it is desiring the truth, otherwise you wouldn't be here so much. You keep this up, and God will deal with you yet. Who knows, there may be a pastor somewhere inside of you. Take care.

Do you know all these people who are trying to disprove the living Word ? If you want to be tossed about by every wind and doctrine you will be condemned when you perish . Where do you think you are going when you die ? You might want to search further before you make a final judgement on yourself . That is ultimately what you are doing , by being closed minded .
and selfish you will condemn your own self . And quit trying to mess with God's children . Jesus said in the scriptures Matthew 18:6

There's only one Bible. So many people have taken it and twisted it. The Word of God is real and inspired by God. There's no debating that, but I do agree with you that some versions -- especially modern ones -- paraphrase the ancient texts a little too much and in the process change the meaning of certain passages.
