Do you believe sexual predators are better off away from the community placed in jail or prison where they may never recieve help for their problem (and when they get out they may re-offend)? Or do you think it better for them to be placed in a treatment center so they may be cured of their problem?

Why not both? Why not have treatment programs in prison?
The treatment for this is pretty successful in 90% of cases but it takes a long time and is expensive. The question is who will pay for the treatment and who is willing to pay? And how expensive are things like incarceration? You should think about becoming a therapist that helps sexual predators get treated and recover. Or consider becoming a warden so you can increase treatment in prisons. In the meantime you can be an advocate for programs that work. Do some research to figure out what really works and how well and how expensive the stuff is.

Just an FYI. I meet every single week with the Department of Corrections for my State to meet and talk with the men and WOMEN being released back onto the streets. I do this so I can brief my fellow Patrol Officers about the new ex-cons coming into our areas. After talking with them and learning more about them I have learned one thing. Sex offenders do not get rehabilitated to a normal sexual drive. What some, but not many are able to do is recognize the problem and avoid triggers or situations that escilate their deviant behaviours. They are not allowed in public parks, swimming pools or within a certain distance from schools during their probation. In all honesty, we sometimes take a pole to see how long it takes before we catch some of the people just relased re-offending because it is so common. We do this because the recidivism a.k.a. re-offending rate is in the 96% range. Recently we just caught a guy who I meet with in the morning that evening at public Library seven hous latter dressed in drag and exposing himself. This was the same day he was released. My advice is this, simply check your State's Sex Offender Registry or Family Watch Dog web site. Know the offenders near you, and keep your kids clear of these homes. Also, most predators who are not relatives grooming their vitims are caught in Park Bathrooms, and Mall Bathrooms, so never let your children go into a public restroom alone. If you have to stand outside the door or just simply go in and wash your hands while they use the restroom do so.

According to the work I did with the Illinois Department of Correction and the Illinois Prison System Medical Facilities, perversions such as the ones you list, I lean toward total castration of males---not just the pills---complete castration prior to their ever being released into the population.

However, child predators who are incarcerated are killed inside prison. There is honor among thieves as crimes relate to children. Unfortunately, raping women or raping men doesn't seem to be a big deal either in our courts or in the prisons.

I would say that anyone convicted of assault against a child, sexual or otherwise, should be sentenced at least 15 years---until the child they assaulted is grown and can protect themselves. Then, if the prisoner is paroled, they would have to consent to complete physical castration prior to their being released. If they refused the castration process, the parole should be denied.

Sexual perversion seems to be the largest growing cancer in our nation. Children made into sexual slaves, children being sold, young girls being sold in other countries to be shipped to the United States simply for the sexual enjoyment of Americans.

I believe in those instances, the person who paid for the service should be incarcerated for the same length of time as the person who sold the child for sex. Any assets owned by both individuals or groups should be seized and given to the child and the families of the child.

I'd like to see a death sentence, for repeated offenders. But I think that a jail term should be served and then a mandatory treatment. I don't think there is treatment for that but sense we have to deal with the scum of the earth we should make their lives as miserable as possible.

Since they are breaking a law, they need to serve their time. However, I do think they need to be treated, otherwise they will go out and do it again. Since the great majority are male - after a person repeats an offense, or does a heinious crime - they should be castrated. Not as punishment, but as treatment. It has been shown to erase those urges.

Jail or Treatment?

NEITHER, they can NOT be rehabilitated, they say it and it is proven time and time again. They should be publicly hung and tortured and then killed. They are not just predators who RUIN lives, they are parasites.

They will NOT be cured, the only way to CURE them is to kill them. I would be happy to volunteer for the job and become the exterminator of these parasites.

sexual predators are better off DEAD! Their likelihood of rehabilitation is nil, and why should taxpayers support their vile human life in jail. Better yet, just put them in a room with the family of the victim(s) and let nature take it's course!!

Expect only so much improvement -- sex offenders who kill even one child should never be let out in public. They should be put in jail but not given a computer, or a dog etc. They should be given hard labor and subjected to the other criminals. They are monsters!
