Why do religions believe that if you don't abide by there beliefs that you're gonna go hell.?

Really, what is the right religion, and if you happen to decide what it is explain, why it differs from the others?

I can tell you what I believe to be the right religion, but you need to discover that for yourself. You can only use other people's beliefs until you've found your own. Do some research and follow your heart. I've felt a lot of things in my life that has led me to believe that the true church of Christ is here on Earth once again. It's so comforting and it's helped me live a better life.

Frankly, because most of the "you're going to hell" messages are just a method of control. If you want someone to stop/start doing something and they aren't listening, why not tell them God said so? People are afraid of the unknown so they are willing to put up with all sorts of BS to get on God's 'good side'

If you're really curious. Look up Unitarian Universalism. It's a mostly humanist (helping people and the world) religion but it also doesn't say that you have to believe a certain thing to be a Unitarian Universalist. Their credo is "Affirming the inherant dignity and worth of every person" Check it out, you might be suprised!

Nonono my friend you have it all wrong. The only religion that believes that you will go to hell is christianity. There is no right or wrong religion, if you have found a path that suits your life and makes you happy, then you have found your right religion. Don't let anybody change your mind about it. I've found my path and it's not through the Lord or Jesus Christ, but through gods and goddesses, energy, animals, nature, life in general...paganism.

Actually, God will only hold us accountable for what we know. Sinners are only accountable for their sins if they know they are sinning. Otherwise, it is called a transgression. Wrong acts are not sins until the sinner learns that it is wrong.

The only people who are going to hell are the ones who have felt the Spirit, commit sin, know that they are committing sin, refuse to repent and deny that they have felt the Spirit.

As to what is the right religion, about 200 years ago, a young man in New York asked God the same question. Find out about it at LDS.org. God will answer your question, too.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. NO ONE comes to the father except through me!" No other religion's leader has said, or can say that. We can gather from this that if you want to live forever in Heaven with God, you've got to follow Christ...Christianity. Other religions offer eternal life, but they don't claim that it's the absolute truth- Jesus is the only one to every say that.

Hell is the 'dead spirit' realm. If you don't follow God's way to Life, the only other option is death. God doesn't force Christianity on anyone...He gives us free choice. So, if you want eternal life, you've only got one option that is really the Truth...otherwise, Hell will be your new home after you die on Earth.

Religion is not what takes you to hell. Rejecting Jesus Christ as your Savior does. You must be saved by the Grace of God to go to Heaven. You have to realize you are lost, and believe that Jesus died for you, and was buried, and rose again on the third day. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and come into your heart and save you. Then live for Him. Tell others,what Jesus done for you.

I believe in God. Every body must be born again before you live this earth and did what God told you to do. Or they are going to hell. You will found out the true religion one day. I would give my self to God. On judegement day EVER BODY will find out who is the true God. Which is God in heaven.

religion should be a belief purely amoungst yourself....organized religion is where we have gone wrong....everyones opinion is different....no one person believes exactly the same which is why organized religion is wrong for our world (we are in a war because some habiba deebahs were promised 70 virgins for screwing us over)

Because in perfection was goodness created, therefore sin can have no part of heaven. The SCripture says, "For what communion hath light with darkness and what concord hath Christ with Belial?"
