I am the best friend of a man and he is dating someone. She was REALLY jealous and he begged me to talk to her, so I did. I was able to explain that he and I REALLY ARE like brother and sister. We DID try to date at one point, but laughed when we kissed. We were definitely NOT meant to be together romantically. Now we even double date! She's fine now. If you're having issues with your man having a girl as a best friend, just see if you can talk to her about it. I know it made my best friend's girl feel ALOT better!
On the other hand, if he's kinda "hiding" her from you OR she doesn't like you, there could be more and you SHOULD be worried... A guy's lady should always come above ANY other person, especially if the two fo you are in a "real" and "serious" relationship. Hope that helps!!

Sounds like a bit of jealousy here!
If you love your boyfriend and trust him, then i don't see a problem with the best friend being the opposite sex...
Jealousy is an expensive and nasty hurdle you need to get over if you want your boyfriend and your relationship to go on! Its expensive because it can cost people the most unpricable thing ever....happiness!
Just after my boyfriend and me had our 3rd child, i got the ar$e about some girl he was texting, i wouldnt have got jealous etc if he hadnt tried to hide the fact that they were txtin each other....straight away jumped the gun, convincing myself that there was something going on, so i chucked him out, which i regret because of our kids!
So, dont worry about the best mate being female, otherwise you might lose him...Just trust him, if not trust ur instincts!!
Good luck!

I have known a number of guys whose best friend was a female...why should it bother you? If she were a threat, they'd be dating each other...although some guys will allow their female friends to have a lot of input into their lives, especially where dating is concerned...
You have to decide if the situation bothers you...and that will depend in part upon how close they are, how much time they spend together...and how much influence she has over him...

Actually My husband does not have a female best friend but he has female friends and I always keep an extra eye out when they come around. I guess its just normal for us to do and feel that.

My best friend is a guy and he has a girlfriend, at first it bothered her I think, but now they realise that i'm not at all a threat and that he loves her and she trusts him completely. Plus my ex, his bff was a girl and at first i was uncomfortable, but i realised that if i was mad at about him having other girl friends then he'd have the right to be mad that i have other guy friends, and I didn't want that. So i just let my insecurities go and just trusted him. IT'S ALL ABOUT TRUST!

It would bother me -- that's just the truth, and if it bothers you you need to just stop dating the person -- not try to change the situation, try to understand why, try to compete with the friend -- that is stupid behavior and you ar ejust asking for an unhappy relationship if that is the case

Yes I did. I actually met her first and then she introduced me to her other best friend which happend to be Bobby. The first day me and Bobby met we were instantly attracted to eachother. The next day we went on our first date and were already going out. So Three is not a crowd!!!

I hope it ain't gonna bother them but there are very few males, my friends I mean, that have survived to my 'old age.' If a girl is bothered by that it's a sign she's a jealous broad!

Well, my best friend is a guy, and he has a girlfriend, but it never seems to bother her. I guess it just depends on the person.
