Hi, I'm Persian, you don't need to learn Persian, just don't forget big smiles, laugh without any reason, we Persians love anybody who smiling in every situation. oh don't forget kiss on the cheeks ! if her father tries to kiss you on the cheeks ! don't scare, this is a kinda greetings ... and by the way, "farsi" is not a correct term to indicate Persian's language, that's "Persian", we're Iranian or Persian and we speak Persian. some refs. :

either learn a few words of greeting and respect in Farsi, or go to the persian part of town (a grocery store or gift shop will do) and ask them what kind of small gift would be appropriate. Most cultures have a small cerimonial gift for these situations. Maybe something that will remind them of home (a type of flower you can bring in a bouquet, or maybe some fruit). If nothing else, a little gift from your own culture would be sweet, too. What would you bring the grandparents of a girl from Chile? They might be interested about your culture as much as you are in theirs...

Plus, it will be sweet of you to say "this is something my grandparents enjoy in Chile" or "In Chile, this gift is a mark of respect" etc.

Good luck!

You won't impress them at all.

You should learn Farsi.

Don't go out of your way to impress them, because they won't like you anyhow.

Just being honest.

You act like yourself. You don't have to impress any one because they want to get to know who you are. They don't want to cover yourself up and act like a different person. Just go there and introduce yourself to her parents and act like you always do. Good Luck.

Just be yourself......but try to learn the basics in Farsi...like Hello, Goodbye, thank-you...if they see you have tried to learn some of the language you will be seen with more respect for them and their culture.
