You can get a flat stomach by doing multiple things. You can of course do situps. A good website that shows you multiple types is toneteen.com. Also, your stomach becomes bloated if you drink liquid with caffeine (IE: soda). Walking at a fast pace is good also if you're not a fan of running. Or you could try eating in moderation or in lesser portions. That may help too. But exercise if your best choice. Definitly check out the website above. It's in the health and fitness section. They work. And if you keep the exercises up, you'll be on your way to a flatter stomach!

Pilates is the best way to get a FLAT stomach.. man or woman. All pilates exercises focus on the core so they use all the stomach muscles at one time giving a leaner more proportioned result. Crunches and sit ups concentrate on one muscle building mass and will give you the 6pack look.. a combo of both will give you the fastest result, along with diet.

Spot myth reduction is common. Doing sit-ups will not get you a 6-pack, but a well balanced diet, and regular exercise with daily cardiovascular activity will...eventually. If that does not work go back to your doctor (you’ve already been before you started exercising) and see if it may be something out of your control. One important thing...unless your doctor says your life is at risk try the exercise before prescription pills. Those should be a last resort. Even if you don’t loose the weight it will be good for your health, and I’ve met more than one doctor willing to give out pills rather than changing habits and lifestyle.

Getting a flat stomach through sit-ups is a common myth. You will not get a six-pack just by doing ab-routines. Your body does not selectively use up fat stores in one area just because you are exercising the muscle groups beneath the fat. You have to reduce your overall body-fat percentage. I knew this guy that could do way more sit-ups than I could, but he didn't have a six pack. I did. You can have the strongest abs in the world, but if they are covered in a layer of fat, no one will see them.
So, the better question would be - how do I reduce my overall body fat.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if your trying to lose weight, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then your consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and log your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

It's hard to say. You might want to go to the docter if you been having problem's getting there eventhough your exerciseing. It might be a genetic problem and has nothing to do with how much you eat, or work out.
