From what I understand, signing over custody of a child to someone you know is far simpler than trying to adopt a child. With so many woman who aren't ready for children, and SO many people who would love to (cheaply) adopt one, why isn't there a network like match.com where people can privately choose who to give their child to? Keep the institutions out of this very personal transaction!

My dream is to adopt many children however the implications of this scare me:
how will we know they will be good parents
what training will they have and what are their homes like
do they just want them so that they can help around the house.......work...etc. Many people adopt for that reason or so that they can benefit from the financial benefits that they get while foster parenting and then they adopt to have those children watch the foster ones.
What if the children and parents are not a good match...where do the children go to then
and who protects them
what if people sign over custody of children but, accept money under the table for it. They would simply be selling babies.
Just seems like there would be a lot of problems and children are way too precious to have anything bad happen to them.

Sad but true it's all about the money. We sell unwanted babies and there's a good profit init. Lawyers make a good living on our children. Everyone seems to profit but the children and people who would be great parents but they don't have the money only love and you can't put a price on that. I agree with you and it saddens me so that we don't have something like that in affect. Just look at the foster program we have, people get paid to care for unwanted children. The sad part is alot are in it for the all mighty dollar(not to say everyone) but it certainly is not controlled very good. Control- something that is slowly being taken away from us on a daily basis. How can we change it, I'am sorry i wish I had the answer. It is good to hear that someone does care, but are there enough that do, Apparently not, because it takes money to change things and the people who have the money are never faced with this problem. So sad
