Congrats that potty training is going so well, but one age is no better than another age. My daughter is 3 1/2, we've been trying since she was 2, and just this week I can say she is fully potty trained, no accidents all week, wearing big girl panties, dry diaper in the morning and after nap time. Yes, she takes a nap, along with the 2 little boys I keep in my home day care, who will be 3 next month. Kids need naps until they go off to kindergarten and even there a lot of teachers have a rest time after lunch. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

I have two daughters, 5 and 4. They were both potty trained by 3 and a half. That is what I did. Just let them wear underwear. It does get kinda messy. But when they realize that they aren't contained by a diaper anymore they get motivated to use the potty. Unfortunately, there is no way that I have found to fit potty training neatly into my schedule. It was a constant thing. Asking if they have to go potty then rushing them to the potty. I also used a "treat" method. Where if they went potty, and actually produced something for the potty they were rewarded with a piece of candy. Its totally bribery but it really worked. My pediatrician once told me that you can't rush potty training. Its like walking, one day they will wake up and just go potty. Hope this helped, good luck!

Every child is different. I don't agree with you. If your child shows all signs of readiness whether they are 2, 2/12 or 3, then you will have success. Expect alot of accidents. Most 2 year olds bladders aren't physically developed completely. You can start at 2 and finish potty training completely at 3, or you can start at 3 and finish at 3. Alot of children even have to wear pull-ups at night until they are 4. Age doesn't determine readiness. And by the way, 3 year olds do take naps.

I didn't train any of my boys til they were 3 1/2 and it took 1 week with each and my first 2 had very few accidents (1 and 2 respectivly). I think the longer you wait the better, theie muscles are more able to handle it. We also during the same week we got thr the nap and nite. But congrats to you, if yours was ready more power to ya.

congratulations on your success! I also have been working with my daughter on this so I understand you feelings. Congrats and keep working on it - my daughter is great during the day, but nap and nighttime are more trouble for her - she doesn't wake up. So we are doing diapers at those times (under her underwear), but underwear only during the day

because 2 year olds are not yet completely set in there ways. they are still more willing to change their habits. 3 year olds know how to put up more of a resistance when they know it'll push your buttons.

This isn't a "let a mother share her story to the world," site this is a "ask a question or bugger off" site.
