In a word: Yes! It is considered very impolite and down right rude. And, I don't use that word often. Blowing your nose at the table is like sharing tons of germs with those for whom you care.
It is a bathroom activity. After all, we are supposed to wash our hands after blowing our nose.
For those who have a drippy nose, using a tissue to wipe is fine. But, it should not be something that is seen much. It is much better to excuse yourself from the table and blow your nose.
Yuk! Staph germs!

Of course it's not nasty to blow your snooter at the dinner table, as long as you don't blow a big booger in somebodies oyster soup, how would they know the difference?

I always feel rude if I do it, but it's much more polite to wipe/blow your nose than it is to let your snot run down onto your lip, isn't it? Go to the bathroom and blow your nose, no one can hear you or see you. I don't think anyone really thinks anything of it if you don't do it for a long time.

I consider that, and hocking up the junk in your throat very nasty at the table and almost as nasty anywhere around people. Get up and leave the room, for goodness sake.

I have to do it sometimes, I have nasty sinuses. When it's urgent and it's dripping out my nose, I've gotta do it. On a normal basis though, I do it quietly if necessary, and I will usually get up and go to the bathroom, because it is F**KING GROSS. I know. I'm nasty. But I TRY to fix it and go to the potty lol. Sometimes I can't help it.

Bad manners is as rampant as bad restaurants. Putting elbows on the table, smacking while you chew, having unruly and disobedient children in a restaurant are all bad manners. Unfortunately, humans are, for the most part---ill-mannered.

YES, IT'S DISGUSTING!!!!!!! Wiping your nose is one thing, but if a person needs to blow, go to the restroom or even outside. I would rather listen to rowdy, bratty children or even a loud, obnoxious conversation than listen to someone blow their nose while I'm eating.

very nasty... the sound alone is completely gross... and not only in a restaurant... certain things belong in the bathroom.... and this includes farting...same diff to me...anything that comes out of any orifice of the body should be done in private..
why not just sh*# on the table then?

I think so, yes. If it can wait, I believe a person should leave and go to the bathrooms. If they're drippy, simply holding a tissue to your nose to wipe it away, and then leave to the bathroom is okay.
