My mother gave me 2800 dollars total in this passing month of June. I gave her 600 dollars of it back, my entire paycheck. Isn't that enough? she makes more money than I do.

If you borrowed the money with agreement to pay it back, then you should be a a woman of your word and pay her back. You wouldn't borrow any more money from me if you didn't.

What kind of a daughter you are taking $2800 from your mother when you make your own $600. Remember your mother is old and won't be able to work for ever and would need money for times she is not able to work.

You don't have to pay your entire pay checks. Pay her say $100 per month until you have paid entire $2800. Remember it is only a mother who wil pay her daughter $2800 when she needs it. I'll not take that kind of money from my mother.

OK so you lend me 500 dollars but I only give you 20 dollars back but you can't be annoyed because you earn more than I do, you know as well as I do that it's wrong. You borrowed the money (note the word borrowed which implies you will be giving it back) so you should pay it back.
Your mother worked for that money so why should she have to lose out because you are too selfish and self-centred to pay it back.
I'm glad my own children aren't as selfish as you seem to be towards your own mother

Yes, you should feel obligated to pay her back. There comes a time in everyone's life that you must grow up. It's very nice your mother is so giving, but you shouldn't take advantage of her generosity. One of these day she could stop giving to you, so I would pay her back,in case you need more at a later date. She's making more money than you ,but she's earned it. She isn't making it just to hand it over to you. Now, grow up. I wish you luck.

Yes I definately think you should pay her back, she was nice enuff to loan you the money so you should have enuff respect for her to pay her back. AND she didnt loan you 600 dollars she loaned you 2800 it doesnt matter how much she makes, she works just as hard for her money as you do.

That depends on the situation. If she loaned it to you and was expecting to get it back, yes you need to repay every dime of it. If she's okay with the $600, then cool. You'll have to talk to her and ask if she was expecting to give you that money or loan you that money.

Did your mother give it to you with the intention that you would pay back?? If so, then repay her it's only money. Your mom will be more than happy if you pay her back. If you can't pay her back right away make a payment agreement with her.

It depends on if it was a loan or a gift. If it was a loan, you need to pay her back. Money issues between family causes bad blood. If you are confused, ask her when she wants the money back by. If she says you don't have to pay her back then you're off the hook. If she says, as you can. Then well, you have to pay her back.

Shame on you! You always pay back money you owe, unless you were told it was a gift. If it was you giving money to people would you want to be paid back? It is your mother, if you don't pay it back now then the next time you need money she probably won't help.

You would not be asking this question if you didn't feel obligated to repay her. What if your mother only gave you $600.00 and told you "isn't that enough?"
