I bought my van used. There are vents on the ceiling in the back part. I dont know what they are for or how to use them. My van does have front/rear heat/a/c. When I ust he back a/c the vents at the bottom work. Does anyone have any idea what they are for? It isnt in my inst. manuel. Thanks

The lower vents are for heat and the upper ones are for AC. If everything is coming through the lower vents, you have a bad diverter valve or a vacuum leak.

When the a/c is on the air should come out the top vents and when its on heat it should come out the bottom. Sounds like a vacuum leak or a binding air door behind the panel in the rear.

the vents in the rear on top is for heat to go through

There is a switch in the front for the rear unit. It controls vaccum to the rear, and usually the switch goes out.

the heat is supposed to come out on the floor and the a/c air is supposed to come from the ceiling as warm air rises and cold air sinks

I had a windstar a long time ago. I believe they were used for A/C but....I was always driving, so I can't really be sure
