I feed my dogs Pedigree. It was recommended by two different breeders. If you do decide to switch foods, you will have to mix the two brands for about a week, weaning them off the stuff they are now eating. If you don't, they get upset stomaches and diarhea.

You know it's terrible ingredients in the food when you buy it where you can get movies, food and clothing. It might be cheap but in the long run, you're taking away years away from your dog's life with malnutrition. If you want a good food that has all the right nutrition and then some, get Wellness, that's what I feed my dog. You'll pay more than Atta Boy, but your dog will be healthier. There's no by-products, no chemicals, no preservatives, no corn, no fillers, no wheat. 1st ingredient is meat, you have fruits, vegetables and then some.

Pedigree and alpo are the best canned food for my dog! Lucky like alpo more than pedigree. Her favorite dry food is Beneful! She loves it and it is very healthy for her! Its made with Real organic food! She also eats Purina puppy chow it was her favorite! We also gave her Kibbles n bits homestyle dry food! She thought it was okay. We also got her the canned food from Costco and Loved that but really you should just try every thing! MAke a list of things youre dog eats and what she doesn't eat! Then take the chart to the store and buy the foods thats right for her or him!Thats what I do! But we only tried the big brand foods!

I buy a good quality dry food and change around some. This I keep in a Food Bin so she can snack when she want. Then she get Table food from us and one neighbor and the other neighbor give her a Cookie along with her dogs everyday around 5 p.m.
The average weight for this Breed of Female is around 45 pounds. Last time I weighed her she was 110 pounds, but, now winter over she not eat as much and has lost a lot, not weighed her though, but, she looking Trim now.

You should research the ingredients in the cheaper dog foods because they are loaded with preservatives and BHA & BHT which cause cancer. The first ingredient shouldnt say like Corn meal or chicken meal because thats what it is mostly made up as. It should say Lamb, or chicken ect... I feed my dogs Wellness dog food because it is human grade dog food and anything that is good enough for humans to eat is good for my pups!! you will see a difference in how your dogs coat feels and how she even smells on a better quality dog food. Although better quality is more expensive. I spend $40.00 for a 60lb bag... BUT i have three dogs and this lasts me two weeks. They eat less and poop less when they eat a better quality food. Good luck I hope you find a food you are happy with.

Science Diet is recommended by most vets.

I feed my dogs the "Sensitive Skin" kind. One of them gets real dry itchy skin. It's about $26.00 for the biggest bag, and it you get it at PetCo, they have a buy ten get one free deal so it works out to be even less.

You should definately feed a premium dog food though. Much better for the dog, plus they produce much less waste w/ high quality food that doesn't have fillers.

When it comes to dog food the old saying "you get what you pay for" is soooo true. I have a bull mastiff and only feed him Natural Choice dog food by Max, or Iams dog food. I tried to save $$ with other foods but they only gave him gas and made him poo twice as much. Higher cost dog foods usualy allow you to feed less because it is more digestable and they use more of what they eat instead of pooping it out. My dog usually goes through about 75 lbs of food a month at a cost of about $50 a month.

Absolutely. That food is junk. You need to get her on a high quality food. Check at your vet's office or if you have a feed store near by. It will save on health problems for your dog later in life.

Old Roy made both of my dogs have itchy ears...probably the best for its value is Beneful...and you can save money buying it at Costco over Wal-Mart and the grocery store...trust me, I've price shopped!

i think that you should get a different 1 everytime so that they can have change in their food. and u shouldnt give ur dog canned food, the dry food is good 4 their teeth 2 keep them as strong as they should b. thats wat i do 4 my mutts, i have 2 and they need strong teeth 4 the roadkill they find, and 4 fun games like tug a war. i like 2 give my dogs beneful so they can have healthy food, and i give them ol roy, and i also give them pedigree kibbles chunks and chews are good 2. i give them a kind in the winter where you can pour water over it so i can pour warm water over their food.
