Pres. Lincoln freed the slaves. As to weather anyone delivered the slaves from evil.... follow me on this, before they were slaves, they were in their native country's. At that point they weren't evil, just pagan. When they were captured and made into slaves. They were taught Christianity by people who thought they were animals. Sort of like you teach a cat to use the litter box so the beast will not be as offensive, or like you would teach a parrot a funny saying to entertain your guests. You have to realize, they did not believe the slaves had souls, so they had no intention of actually "saving" any of them. The slaves were never delivered from evil. What the slave owners did was increase the evil in their lives by telling them about the light, but not letting them learn about it. (reading was punishable by death)
After Lincoln freed them they were no longer slaves. Only then were they allowed to learn the path that leads away from evil, and the new Free Men that had the strength of character delivered them selves.

If you're actually looking for information, you have to give us a lot more to go on. What slaves ? From what kind of evil ?
Nobody can give you anything definite about any devils. Nobody has ever seen, felt, smelled, or come in contact with any devils. Devils are only in the imagination. Jesus was a real person. A God ??????

If there has been any deliverance at all I would say it was God and not the devil. The devils purpose is to kill, steal and destroy. I would assume that deliverance would include any of the above, so logically speaking it would have had to be Jesus who did the delivering, if this makes sense. :)

In our nation, it was other humans who delivered the slaves from the evil of ownership over others while their invisible dieties looked the other way.
