Most people are not allergic to cats but use that as an excuse. My daughter has a lot of allergies yet she still has 3 cats. A lot of things you can do to help. Get an air purifier it works wonders. Brush the cat often for that is the source of the problem. Keep the cat out of your brothers room. Vacuum often. And keep plenty of meds for allergies around.

My first question is how long have you had the kitten? If not long you may want to consider giving him a new home. It could make your brother very ill to live in the same home with the cat, no matter what drugs or course of action is taken. GL

He can get an allergy shot. Or over the counter allergy medications. Also I know that if you vaccume a lot the furniture and the floors it will also help keep the dander down. Also dust and carpet clean. Also if you shave your cat it will help, It is kinda funny to see a cat shaved but it is cute too.

Have Bro take allergy medication.
Vacuum and dust frequently with a good vacuum cleaner (one with a micro filter), and do not let the kitten into the room where he is to sleep.

i have allergies to cats too, but i got one about 2 months ago and suffered for a few weeks, but now i am used to him. i took non drowsy claritin twice everyday and sometimes advil for my sneezing, etc... i know its no fun taking pills all the time but it helps. oh and for me, it helps when the hosue is cool or a lil on the cold side. If it is too warm i feel like i cant breathe and his hair irritates me more. But we are pretty much used to eachother now. but I cant go into a hosue with a cat.... my allergies are terrible, i guess because im around my kitten all the time, im immune to him now. hopefully your brother will get used to your cat!

Keep the kitten out of your brother's room and do your best to keep the rest of the apartment very clean. Also, there are treatments for allergies.
If that's not enough- well, it is your apartment. So you have to say who stays and who goes.
Good luck.

I think you should possibly give your cat to someone else who you know will take very good care of it untill your brother moves out!
