This guy likes me.. i'm 17 and he's 18. He's ALWAYS liked me.. and we've known eachother a long time. I broke up with my boyfriend a few months ago, and i'm kinda missing having attention. I do like the guy.. its just that im confused on whether its because im missing the attention or, i do really like him. I don't wanna be with him, then realize i've made a mistake, and hurt him.
He wants to know if i'll persue a relationship with him, but i'm not sure.. i said to him.. and i quote "I'm not sure, we'll just have to see what happens"...
How can i know whether i do really like him, or just want attention?

The only way you can know is by waiting. See him socially, but DONT pursue an intimate relationship with him and see how things go. You won't know whether you actually like him or if it's just being attention-starved until and unless you give it some time.
Here's something for you to consider in the meantime: Why do you feel the need to have someone paying attention to you all the time? Is there something missing in your life that makes you crave attention from others?

Its not a bad thing to want the attention. My husband was the type that always had to have a girlfriend. I was put off my it at first, but he charmed me into dating him. So I just made sure that he actually worked on the relationship instead of doing the 4 month date and dump. So now we've been together 10 years and married most of it. So needy isn't bad, as long as the person you are with understands that part of your personality. He could be an absolutely wonderful guy that you'll fall for. I say date him. You need the attention and he's more than willing to give you that attention. Then give it time, and learn about him. Nothing wrong with taking a chance. And wondering about what if's sucks, so date the guy. You might find out that your really like him!

then just ask him if yall can just be friends
and it'll be nice to have some attentions
just give it time- and u'll see which one

If you really liked him you wouldn't tell him "I'm not sure". If you like someone you like them. You dont have to think about it.
