See, it's little things like this that make it so hard for me to become really Christian. Sometimes I wish I couldn't read or hear; I'd probably be filled with happy faith. Sigh. Sorry, but if my cat isn't going to be in heaven, then it isn't going to be heaven. So I guess I'll just cancel my trip. :)

First, heaven is a temporary place for Christians. After the judgment, there will be a new heaven & earth, which will be better than the old, because the curse will not be there.
The Bible doesn't really mention what happens to animals when they die, in fact, it asks a question about it, but doesn't give an answer. Solomon, in Ecclesiastes asks, "Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?"
But, we also know that in heaven there are various creatures, and in Revelation, it mentions that Jesus and His holy ones will come back on horses.
Isaiah mentions that during the reign of Christ on earth, "And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
So, while we don't know if an animal goes to heaven when they die, we know that animals are a major part of God's Kingdom, and will be around for us to enjoy in the future.

That's a really good question. The bible doesn't really speak too much about the place of animals except for Noah's ark and something about us being above them.
This is in complete contrast to First Nations/Native American beliefs, and various other religions that seem to be nature-centred as opposed to man-centred. The bible does seem to have an underlying anti-environmental message, which probably explains the current weather situation. Somehow, I don't think the Creator is an anti-environmentalist, given creation and all. So that's another Bible paradox. As a scientist-humanist at heart, I know it's important for the scientist/thinker to not get there information from just one source.
I don't think the Creator would disapprove of the following song sung by Vanessa Williams from the movie Pocahontas...

Christians believe that animals were put here for use by humans. I do not believe the Bible specifically addresses the issue as to what happens upon the death of an animal. It is implied that animals will suffer the same fate as a human that does not accept Christ as his/her savior.

Animals don't have material souls. When they die its over for them.
However, there will be animals in heaven, as God will create the perfect paradice for us in the most pure way, and animals certinally have a great purity. Heaven is about perfect happiness, and I don't see why God would refuse to place animals there. God could also re-create your friendly Fido, if that should so help in perfect happiness. Atleast thats what a nun told me.

Well there is a referance in Revelation about the Lion laying down with the Lamb. So from the aspect of what is in the stupid bible i'd say yes animals must be there.
After all if God loves all I find it hard to believe that these people would be so stupid as to say well that's all humans but animals well he hates them. lol

Yes, because animals do not have immortal souls. Humans have immortal souls. Animals were not created in the image and likeness of God.

In Genesis, during the creation of the world and all its creatures, humans were the only ones in whom God breathed his breath. We are the only creatures on earth with eternal souls. When animals die, that is it. There is nothing eternal that endures.
