Depends on what you mean by "originally". Some of the earliest texts contained in the Old Testament were written before Hebrew even existed as a language. Some of the stories related there refer to Chaldeean and even Akkadian civilizations, wich used various forms of cuneiform. These early texts were probably first written in Western Semitic, then copied into Hebrew later.

As to the New Testament, most was originally written in Greek. For the book of Matthew, though, we have very strong evidence that it was written "in the language of the Jews" (whether that's Hebrew or Aramaic is in debate) and then translated into Greek.

The "correct" answer to your question is: The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, the New Testament was written in Greek and Jesus preached in Aramaic.

Hebrew and Aramaic, and the New Testament was mostly Greek. Also, the poster above is wrong. Jesus of Nazareth most likely spoke Aramaic.

It is generally believed that the man known as Jesus spoke Aramaic. Most books of that time and afterwards were in Aramaic, Hebrerw, Latin, or Greek. Much of the literature we know today as the "gospels" were copies of copies. As the native language of the scribe changed, so did the text...so it seems.
