so...are you asking a question or what? sounds to me like you already have your answer either way.
the idea you're talking about (better safe than sorry) actually has a name-it's referred to as Pascal's Wager. Pascal was some sort of famous thinker, and he posed that as his reason for obeying God.
but please keep in mind, not all Christians have this as their motivation. I don't know for sure that all nonbelievers are going to burn in a lake of fire, and you'll never see me threaten that on Yahoo.
believe it or not, I serve God in the here and now, with a willing heart, and in the end, if He says there is no heaven, it wasn't a waste of time.

I wish I could help you. I can't think of a 'nice' way to put this- nor can I imagine a way to convey the message without you becoming defiant.
If you could be more open minded, I could help you.
All I can say is that I must warn you- but I doubt that this will do any good. I know that there will be a day of reckoning, and your eyes will be opened, as if nailed open, to the brutal truth of ultimate reality.
It's up to you- pretend you aren't afraid now, or know what fear truly is, once it's too late. You only have a small number of days left. Everyone's life is frail. We could all die any minute now. If you prefer illusion to truth, then continue with your current convictions about God, satan, heaven, and hell.
I doubt that you really disbelieve in God. I don't buy it that you totally disbelieve. Perhaps it's only a small, dormant, innocent part of you, but something within you wants to believe that this is not all that there is to life.
Never mind that God exists. Never mind that I know that. Some people just cannot be reached.
You were right about one thing- it is a game. That little modicum, I must admit, you have correct.
Sooner or later, something is going to happen that will cause you to call into question your beliefs. If you can manage to rid yourself of the negative attitude, I promise to not say "I told you".
I promise this- at some point in the future, the truth and you will be face to face. I promise.

I am sorry that you do not have any faith. I am not going to speak for all christians because that is not my place, however, I can tell you that I am not playing the "safe and not sorry" game. I have a relationship with God and I do not question any of it. I do not feel that I will be disappointed in the "after life" or have been lead wrong all of these years. I know that God is watching out for me and that he exists. Just look at the human body, that wasn't an accident.

God doesn't expect people to come to him full of faith. He says repent and be baptized. Acknowledge Jesus Christ. Even if you don't truly believe when you do that , your life will be changed. If you only do it to be safe than sorry well all I can say is you dog gone better be safe than sorry! God says "come to me with fear and trembling" So if you are playing it safe you are fearing God. With a good healthy fear. Like that of a child who fears his /her parents so they don't do things that might get them in trouble which would probably be something that would be harmful to them.
The fact that you are questioning even if in a negative tone means that God is still there for you and still loves you and is working on you. So you better watch out he may actually bless your life.

You seem to have alot of knowledge and yet do not believe! what type of a game are you playing? Are you just trying to play wit peoples minds. If so you are not very good at it. I do not believ e in God out of fear but rather out of Love for the unselfish acts of love He has done for everyone one of us whether we believe or not. Whos the one trying to get somrthing over on someone? It appears to be you, But what are you are trying to get over and on whom? I ask DO you have children? I f so do they mind because you give them everything they want or do they know there is consquences for breaking the rules? My children know they are consquences for nreaking the rules therefore they try hard not to break the rules. Just as I try very Hard to break the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not fear this is knowledge and being responsible adults. It is also a very good example for our children so they do not become hoods or criminals.

it is based on fear. I fear god which is why I believe in him. It is not selfish to believe in god because if you didn't then you would be left out of the kingdom, it is logical. It is true I have nothing to lose if he turns out not to be real, but I believe he is real so that's not really a concern. call me brainwashed if you want to, i probably am.

In one sense you are correct. in Rev. it says that God prefers us either hot or cold, not lukewarm. Most Christians are lukewarm and are thus spit out of God's mouth ( graphic is it not?). I can speak for myself that I am not hedging my bets. I truly believe in all the things that you don't say you believe in. The fact is that I have been given real life expereince that there is a God. Unless that was you who saved my life when no one else was around or gave a flip.

You are so generous to give the benefit, Wow so understanding.
But you can't exist because this is my reality, my world and my dream. You are just a small part of my imagination, ergo you don't exist.
Can't prove me wrong, My reality I get to choose what is real, Right!!!!!!?

If you had a real relationship with God, you wouldn't be asking that question. Anyone who thinks he/she can do it all on their own is showing the highest form of selfishness. I'll pray for you.
