First, the buyer's order and the finance contract should show the payoff amount for your trade. Thus, the dealership has assumed responsibility for the payoff. I am wondering has the dealership provided you with the title, registration, and licenses plate for your new car. If they have, then the "Deal is completed" as far as the sales staff is concerned, yet, if the "business" department of the dealership has not processed the title on your old car, then they CANNOT legally sell the vehicle, because it does not have a clear title. So, here is what I suggest, go to the dealership with the telephone number of your old car loan company, work out prior to going with that company that you will be calling at a certain time. Ask for the dealership sales manager, and get him, you and your old company on the phone together to work it out. Other than that, get a lawyer.

better business bureau<---- probabaly your best solution

one time an insurance co. jerked my mom around saying she didn't need a rental car. Her drivers door wouldn't open and the adjuster said she could still climb through.

after contacting the bbb the ins. co. called apologizing and rented her a nice car and apologized and apologized.

anyway they straighted them out. Granted the govt usually slacks its def. worth a try- good luck

you could also go in the dealership while their busy w\ customers
and completely flip out on them YELL SCREAM THREATEN AND CURSE WILDLY UNTIL THE MAKE YOU APPEASED!!!
you would be suprised what people will do to make someone stop yelling at them. Don't be embarassed-embarass the biz.
