If so, what does the shape of a pineapple prove?

Ray Comfort is so freakin' whacked out that I can't imagine even the most devout Christian taking him seriously! The modern banana bears NO resemblance to its ancestors because it has been GENETICALLY MODIFIED BY HUMANS, through selection, to its present size, color, and flavor! All of the yellow bananas in the stores are of the same variety; they are clones, basically, and banana crops are in danger because the lack of genetic diversity means that a plague in a single plantation could spread to kill other banana crops, due to their lack of immunity. This is a real fear of plantation owners, and steps are being taken to develop cross-breeds that can resist any bugs that nature throws at them.

So, where does God fit in? It is HUMANS who are doing all the specialized breeding, here! And what does this say about apples, oranges, and other round fruits that are hard to grasp? And I guess God never intened for humans to eat coconuts or he wouldn't have given them hard-to-open shells. ¬_¬

The argument from intelligent design is invalid. If a first year engineering student were to asked to design a human body as an asigneme nt and came up with the stupid idea of putting the command-control centre in the most vulnerable place - on a stalk at the top - or putting the leg bone in the most vulnerable place - at the front, he or she would get an F. If there is a God, He ain't that bright.

It's a weak argument, i'll admit. But Christians don't only argue about the shape. They argue about other parts as well......
The Peel: It is a protective wrapper. It also tells if the banana is green, ripe, or rotten.
I don't agree that it proves ID. It is just one of those things that we can eat.
There are better ways in science to support (not prove) intellegent design. But most Christians on here deny science because they think it conflicts with the Bible. If only they would delve into the science world once in awhile, they may find out that science and religion coincide on a lot of issues. Not just Christians but Atheists, Agnostics, Muslims,.....etc..

Ray Comfort invented the argument that the banana is "the atheist's nightmare" because it's "obviously designed for the human hand and mouth".

But actually, after being proven wrong again and again, and confronted by rationalists on the issue, Ray Comfort has now admitted that this argument is hogwash, and has conceded that it holds no water.

How in the hell does a banana prove Intelligent Design? Because you can peel it? I can peel my skin off, does that prove Intelligent Design?

The shape of a banana? I'm Christian, but I'll buy the scientific reason for its shape than consider it the blatant proof of God.

Yes. But the Intellegent Design of human's selective breeding of banannas, not of God.

That God thinks pineapples are an abomination, and should not eat them. Same with coconuts.

I love that video!
The issue they didn't address is why monkeys open bananas from the bottom, not the top as god 'intended'.
