The precepts of the Church require Catholics o recieve the sacrament of reconciliation at least once a year, preferably during the Lenten or Easter season.
Catholics are required to recieve the sacrament of reconciliation before recieving Communion when they are in a state of mortal sin. It is beneficial, but not required to confess venial sins.
Confession is "good for" however long it takes before one sins again.

True Christians talk often to THE GOD so can do the Holy Communion Commemorative event as often as offered.
Roman Catholics MUST make a confession TO A PRIEST (not directly as told to by the Bible) at least once a year. That's called Easter DUTIES. That was invented only about 150 years ago by the Cult.
True Christians believe that THE GOD has a very good memory so a confession is remembered for ever.. Thereby TRUE CHRISTIANS -- once saved, are ALWAYS SAVED.

Technically, you are supposed to receive Our Lord in the Sacrament of the Eucharist ONLY when your soul is free from sin, ie, after the absolution obtained in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
But, if you have committed no mortal sins since your last Confession and if you use that part of the Mass called the Confiteor to ask God in the silence of your heart and mind for pardon for any venial sins you may have committed since your last Confession, then you may partake. But you should make arrangements to go to Confession as soon as possible thereafter as your schedule permits.
Hope this clarifies things a bit for you.

Boy! I may get in trouble with this.
The pre-supposition when you go to receive holy communion is that you are free from sin. You are receiving God into your body, where he hill dwell within you.
Therefore you have to go to confession before you got ot communion to free yourself from sin.
But the question now is what is sin? How sinful is an act so that you have to have to go to confession.
My answer to you is that, follow your conscience and your heart. If you feel that you are not sinful or is not in the state of sin, then there is no need for you to confess. However, as a mature Christian, who holds Jesus as most reverent, you must be responsible to judge correctly. If you cant then follow what the church teaches.
Simply put, no one can tell you that you are a sinful man/woman except you yourself. So be able to judge by yourself if you are sinful or not. Then, you decide if there is a need for you to go to confession.
Warning: when you judge yourself let it be in the light of what God teaches you and not what your environment demand or imposes on you.

When you commit a mortal sin you need to confess it before receiving holy communion. The more often you confess the better it is for your spiritual health.

We need to confess as often as we sin but to whom do you confess to? If you confess to the one you have sinned against, doesn't that make you want to sin less because you open yourself up to retaliation? Or do you confess to an intermediary like a priest who charges you with a nominal cost? Does that confession then become as valid as the first? In your heart you know the truth, will you chose the lesser and if you do, will you be given the lessor reward?

The church believes that when you sin, you need to confess in order to clean your heart and soul before communion. Your sins need to be absolved and you must perfrom penance, an Act of Contrition. What do you believe???Do you talk to God? there are those who believe that since they talk to God themselves, confession is not necessary

almost all Christian Faiths contain a prevalent Confession of Sin followed by utilizing Absolution earlier to the Consecration. in case your Church makes use of this kind, that's you answer. If no longer, you'll, for sure, be ruled by utilizing the regulations of your man or woman denomination. Ask your Priest.

When you sin,you should repent and tun from sin! Sin shouldn't reign in your life as if it is a choice. Communion is for cleansing, fellowship and reconciliation with others and most importantly a communion with God.

Once, then you will officially be allowed to receive it whenever. However, it is not advised. You should confess whenever you feel that you have sinned.
