I'm 1/4 Mexican also. I don't know the reason you do it. The reason I do it is because I've met many and I feel bad for them. They get trated like dogs in their countries because many are indigenous and they come here and get treated like slaves. No one deserves that, not even your worst enemy.

i think you have a good heart but sometimes it takes more than that to be a great leader in anything . ,and someone here told you if you join the USAF you may be put into a position for your country that may be contrary to that great big heart you have. you once said pancha that if you worked at the border you would secretly help the illegals cross so i question if you can handle a situation our country may ask of you! war is ugly ,and a military action may seem cruel so can you handle it? what if we let all the illegals stay how has this fixed the problem in mexico and in the years to come if there is a next wave that makes it in will you be their great defender? when will it end ? would you like it if our country was financially taking care of Iraq we had millions of them here and they were consuming our social services and waving their flag above ours, demanding ,and taking our jobs, and they said they were doing it to better their lives here. would you look at it different what would you think of their country and their leader ? would you be their defender ? how is it ok for mexicans but not a different people to behave this way?

Hmmmm .... maybe you're just very nice, or very naive, or a bit of both .... you're probably trying to defend them just BECAUSE you don't know any ... if you did, maybe you wouldn't ... actually, don't think anybody is all that against the poor farm workers who have been here for 20 years etc .... but what about the criminal gangs? The abject criminals? Are you defending them too? Because this blanket PRO stance for illegals really means you're PRO letting in gang members, murderers, rapists, fraudsters, literally ANYBODY ... so being PRO illegal must by necessity mean that you are ANTI American ... and don't give a damn about ordinary American law abiding people but prefer to listen to whingeing poor me illegal law breakers ....
Oh and Angela ... Blessed are the poor ... yeah ... there ARE poor Americans you know ... who are getting poorer because of the companies hiring illegals and pressing down the wages ... and why is it to be assumed that all illegal aliens are poor? Those who fake IDs and push drugs are hardly poverty stricken ...
So Pancha, joining the USAF .. and that makes you a patriot, does it? Believe plenty of illegals are working for the Armed Forces too ... scandalous but true ....

Because You think it is just a people issue? Because you are only looking at one side of an issue?
Because you don't value laws and the good they do?
Because you have never see the very poor here and had to answer to them why you feed others who want more-than them who need it here. And I bet you never have spend a day there.
And Angela-don't throw bible verses unless you read the whole book. He also put shame on the one who doesn't care for his family first (and they were talking about "local" congregation) for every Scripture you pick for your cause-the same could be used with others. Don't use God in your battles--he doesn't like it. The Pharisees tried that-are you like them?
And nowhere were you to support wrong doers-ever! And Jesus was know for compassion- but he never cover up wrong or didn't call it out sometimes very strongly. Must be nice to pick and choose what you want!! but God doesn't support it.

Maybe cause you know what is right and whats wrong.I'm not mexican at all and my hubbies well on his way to becoming legal(they wouldn't send him back, anyways cause we're just waiting a ins response).I know several illegal immigrants but don't have any family members in danger of deportation. My brother-in-laws are both applying for residency also. But I feel that every illegal person deserves a fair chance. If the only thing they've done wrong is entering this country ,well , I don't see that as bad as some american ppl here,ya know? So,for whatever your reason, just keep believing in yourself and what you believe.

People are not illegal, though their actions may be. They are undocumented or out-of-status (came in with a proper visa, but stayed too long).
Most Americans come from an "immigrant" family, unless they are Native Americans. So whether your ancestors came 200 years ago or 2 years ago, we should not deny anyone the chance that we (or out ancestors) had.

Exactly how OLD are you Panch??? To me you sound like a young person who is very idealistic, but has NO idea of what this whole thing is about!! Because, you see, it's NOT about them being mexican, it's about them BREAKING our laws!! It's about them driving down wages for every LEGAL citizen! It's about them EXPOSING the rest of us to diseases, because when they SNEAK into the country, there is no way to KNOW what kind of diseases thay carry! It's about taking jobs that Americans WILL do and need! (Americans just can NOT afford to work for the low wages that illegals work for)!
It's about NOT cutting ahead of people who have waited for years, to come here the RIGHT way!!
And,it is about showing RESPECT for this country by NOT flying a foreign flag here, and DEMANDING to be given "rights"!!!
And regardless of what a lot of people are saying,it is NOT about "race"!!! We would feel the SAME WAY about ANY country that was doing this!!

Because you can't separate your conscience and compassion from the law of this country. Pancha it's not about race, heritage, culture, lifestyle, hard times, suffering, or working hard. It's not about humanity, mercy, history, economics, or second chances. It's about what is right according to our American Law....the Law that your ancestors voted for and established years ago, possibly even you have inadvertently supported this Law without even realizing you were. I feel for you sweetie and understand your compassion but I also know that my compassion for humans has nothing to do with our Law. Girl without the American support of our Laws we are all in big trouble, vulnerable, naked and exposed to any and every crime feasible by mankind. Supporting our Law is the right and American thing to do and it does not make us cold, heartless people.

Because you have a loose wire somewhere up in your head? That is the only thing I can think of... Or maybe I have a complete circuit(caring, compassion, love, etc.) removed from mine. I don't know, but I sure do wish there more people who would think with their brain instead of their heart.... especially in issues like these.
Angela, that was ignorant, stop throwing out bible versus, because I can throw out more that talk about upholding our laws..... Why don't the illegals empathize with us? Why don't they look at it from our side? Yeahhhh I bet you feel stupid now, don't you?

How should I know? My brother-in-law's father is from Mexico who, like many, has a family in Mexico and the US. He married my brother-in-law's mother so he could be citizen and work here to provide for his Mexican family. She just wanted kids. I don't agree with arrangement but at least he did follow the law.
That being said, my brother-in-law is SICK of these illegal immigrants. He says they make him look bad and waste his tax dollars. If he can see the difference between illegal immigrants and legal immigrants, you need to learn to.

Maybe because you care about human beings. But don't let your concern for others well being interfere with what ever job you will be doing in the air force. if you are told to push the button, you won't have time to think about the human lives you will be destroying. do you have the fortitude to do what you are told to do, no matter what?
and keep in mind, the ILLEGALS are ILLEGAL.
