I had undergone endoscopy six months ago and was told by my doctor the 3 polyps found in my intestine were small. Last week, 2-3 drops of blood suddenly came down when i was doing my bowel movement. Does that have something to do with the polyps? Actually a year before doing the endoscopy, i already had my first blood experience.

Polyps should always be remove immediately. If they are left alone too long they can turn cancerous. This takes an average of ten years to happen and you want to make sure they are still benign when they are removed. It is hard to say, if the blood was polyp related or not. It could be hemorroids as well. But I would remove the polyps just to make sure.

The blood could be from hemorrhoids if bright red, but take no chances. I would find another doctor and get those things out. I had no signs or symptoms and had stage 4 colon cancer that had already metastasized to my liver. I was told I had 6 months to live (that was 5 1/2 years ago). Thanks to God, the Great Physician, I am now clear and doing great. My doctor removes all polyps, regardless of size, and I can't imagine why you doctor didn't. He was already in there looking around, and it should have been done.

Why did not the physician doing the endoscopy remove those small polyps at the time for diagnosis at least? Multiple polyps tend to recur and you should have a colonoscopy regularly to check for malignancies and remove recurrances.

I'm surprise your doctor didnt remove them. I had a procedure done like yours and they removed a polyp the size of a pencil tip. I'm surprised the doctor even saw it. Its a scary thought when youre bleeding like that. I have cancer on both sides of my family so you can imagine how I felt when I was bleeding.

I would ask youre doctor why he didnt remove them or it. If he didnt remove them at least have done a BIOPSY on them.

Follow your doctor's advice. Maybe if you aren't comfortable with what he/she said then get a second opinion.
