Ask a gate agent for directions to the departure gate for your next flight

It won't be too bad, especially if you're sticking with the same airline all the way through the trip. In most airports, each airline has their own "section" of the concourse, and their planes all come in and depart from the same general location. (This isn't true if your second plane will take you to a different country though.) In the airports where an airline's "section" may be split into two locations, they generally provide shuttles to and fro to make it easier to get to your next plane.

When you first arrive at the airport, you should be given tickets for both of your planes. Check the second flight's ticket for the departure gate; when you board your first flight, ask the attendant which gate you will be landing at. You'll probably find that the arrival location is close to the departure location; for example, many airports name their "wings" with letters and the individual gates with numbers, and you may find your second flight leaves from B-50 and your first flight arrives at B-42.

Check the in-flight magazine (it's in the pouch on the back of the seat in front of you) for airport maps; not all airports show up in the maps but yours might. Then you can see exactly how to go from one gate to the next. Otherwise, simply ask the gate attendants when you land and they'll point you in the right direction.

If your layover is less than an hour, I'd recommend you not leave the secure area; they have everything you need (food, drink, restrooms, etc) in the area past security, so unless you smoke, you don't have to step out of the security zone. That means you don't have to go back through the security screening. Sometimes those lines can be long and slow, and if you underestimate the wait or how far from the gate you are, you may miss your second flight!

I don't know if its what you're looking for, but it should help you.
Other than that, check out the airport map on the internet. Feel free to always ask an airport official for help in getting to and from gates, security etc. Don't waste time checking out stuff in the airport, especially when you have a connecting flight - once you're all set to nearly board the connecting flight you can look around if you wish. Your gates numbers should be listed on your ticket and will tell you where to go next. Good luck and travel safe!

Try searching for the airport's website using Google or Yahoo or some other search engine. Most airport websites have a map page that show a diagram of the terminals and where the gates are in relation to security checkpoints, bathrooms, etc. Hopefully those maps will point you in the right direction.

Lots of good answers on this one. A synopsis:
- Check your boarding pass for the departure gate, and look at the signs in the airport to see where it is. You can also check the television screens to see which gate your flight is leaving from.
- On arrival at your connecting airport, determine what gate you have arrived at. An airport map can provide guidance to the next departure gate. Or, simply look at the next boarding pass to get the gate number, and then look for signs.
- Ask, if you need to.

"Google" (or yahoo) the name of the airport. Chances are that the airport has a Web site with directions, maps, services, flight schedules. There's always lots of signage everywhere you go once you're inside the terminal.

Forget all the hype and don't be nervous. Asking people helps the best. I used to always ask a janitor because they work in the building and most certainly know their way arouond. There's always one to be found too. There isn't always someone manning the counter when it comes to the gates, and the info centers are usually too busy and could cause you to miss your connection.
