Everyone else is telling me they worship hundreds of Gods....the God they worship now is the moon God. I heard that is what the cresent moon symbol on their flag means.....their moon God. I am not trying to be judgmental or anything I am just curious about Islamic faith. Where does Jesus come into the picture? Do muslims believe he is the son of God....do they believe in the cross? Know of any good websites on these topics?

Some Basic Islamic Beliefs
The religion of Islam is the acceptance of and obedience to the teachings of God which He revealed to His last prophet, Muhammad .
1) Belief in God:
Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Quran, God describes Himself:

Say, “He is God, the One. God, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” (Quran, 112:1-4)
No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God alone.
God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands in need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing. In a perfect manner, His knowledge encompasses all things, the open and the secret, and the public and the private. He knows what has happened, what will happen, and how it will happen. No affair occurs in the whole world except by His will. Whatever He wills is, and whatever He does not will is not and will never be. His will is above the will of all the creatures. He has power over all things, and He is able to do everything. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and the Most Beneficent. In one of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad , we are told that God is more merciful to His creatures than a mother to her child. God is far removed from injustice and tyranny. He is All-Wise in all of His actions and decrees. If someone wants something from God, he or she can ask God directly without asking anyone else to intercede with God for him or her.
God is not Jesus, and Jesus is not God. Even Jesus himself rejected this. God has said in the Quran:
Indeed, they have disbelieved who have said, “God is the Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary.” The Messiah said, “Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates partners in worship with God, then God has forbidden Paradise for him, and his home is the Fire (Hell). For the wrongdoers, there will be no helpers.” (Quran, 5:72)

God is not a trinity. God has said in the Quran:
Indeed, they disbelieve who say, “God is the third of three (in a trinity),” when there is no god but one God. If they desist not from what they say, truly, a painful punishment will befall the disbelievers among them. Would they not rather repent to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a messenger... (Quran, 5:73-75)
Islam rejects that God rested on the seventh day of the creation, that He wrestled with one of His angels, that He is an envious plotter against mankind, or that He is incarnate in any human being. Islam also rejects the attribution of any human form to God. All of these are considered blasphemous. God is the Exalted. He is far removed from every imperfection. He never becomes weary. He does not become drowsy nor does he sleep.
The Arabic word Allah means God (the one and only true God who created the whole universe). This word Allah is a name for God, which is used by Arabic speakers, both Arab Muslims and Arab Christians. This word cannot be used to designate anything other than the one true God. The Arabic word Allah occurs in the Quran about 2700 times. In Aramaic, a language related closely to Arabic and the language that Jesus habitually spoke, God is also referred to as Allah.
2) Belief in the Angels:
Muslims believe in the existence of the angels and that they are honored creatures. The angels worship God alone, obey Him, and act only by His command. Among the angels is Gabriel, who brought down the Quran to Muhammad .
3) Belief in God’s Revealed Books:
Muslims believe that God revealed books to His messengers as proof for mankind and as guidance for them. Among these books is the Quran, which God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad . God has guaranteed the Quran’s protection from any corruption or distortion. God has said:
Indeed, We have sent down the Quran, and surely We will guard it (from corruption). (Quran, 15:9)
4) Belief in the Prophets and Messengers of God:
Muslims believe in the prophets and messengers of God, starting with Adam, including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them). But God’s final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad . Muslims believe that Muhammad is the last prophet sent by God, as God has said:
Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men, but he is the Messenger of God and the last of the prophets... (Quran, 33:40)
Muslims believe that all the prophets and messengers were created human beings who had none of the divine qualities of God.
5) Belief in the Day of Judgment:
Muslims believe in the Day of Judgment (the Day of Resurrection) when all people will be resurrected for God’s judgment according to their beliefs and deeds.
6) Belief in Al-Qadar:
Muslims believe in Al-Qadar, which is Divine Predestination, but this belief in Divine Predestination does not mean that human beings do not have freewill. Rather, Muslims believe that God has given human beings freewill. This means that they can choose right or wrong and that they are responsible for their choices.
The belief in Divine Predestination includes belief in four things: 1) God knows everything. He knows what has happened and what will happen. 2) God has recorded all that has happened and all that will happen. 3) Whatever God wills to happen happens, and whatever He wills not to happen does not happen. 4) God is the Creator of everything.

Many people seek to make others look bad, and lying is a perfect means of doing so, because there will always be someone to believe it.

Thank you so much for asking though. Knowledge is far superior to ignorance, and even if you don't agree with what you find, at least you will know the truth of it.

Just as Christianity stemmed from Judaism, Islam stemmed from Christianity. During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) before he became a prophet, the people of the area were falling out of monotheism and were worshipping stone idols and fire and such. They had, for the most part, lost morality and piety. God sent an angel to Muhammad to deliver His message in order to save these people from their own behaviors. He, like the Jews and Christians long before, had to spread the Word in secret until they felt they were strong enough in numbers to defend themselves from those who didn't want change in their society and didn't want to leave the ways of their parents and grandparents (idol worship). Soon enough, the Word and wisdom of Islam had spread all across the Middle East, reaching Spain, Africa, Asia, and parts of Europe and became known as the Ottoman Empire.
Now, it was during this Empire that the crescent moon had been introduced into Islamic culture. See, we Muslims follow the lunar calendar to mark months and holidays, Ramadan and Eid are the most famous. The Christian Crusades are what sparked this need, as it was then placed on flags and such as a mark of identity, to know which side each fighter belonged to. It eventually became a symbol of Islam and was placed atop mosques (this practice was started by the Turkish).
Being from the same God as Abraham and Jesus and Noah and Moses, etc, we believe the same prophets, the same teachings, we believe that the only god worthy of worship is God Himself, and that He has no partners nor offspring (we believe Jesus was a man, a messenger, a prophet and a healer, but not divine like God), we believe in His angels and all of His creations, we believe in His books (Torah, Psalms, Gospel and Quran), and we believe in the Day of Judgement, when every soul will be judged not by the title he carries, but by what he did with his gifts of health and wealth, and his intentions behind those deeds. Based on these God will decide whether he is worthy of Heaven or Hell, and no one at all can know where a person will spend eternity but God alone, even we cannot know until God shows us.

So, I hope that helped you, and if it wasn't enough or if you would like to know more, I will post some websites you can visit for more info. Good luck and God bless!

the idea of moon good has been invented to push people away from Islam. but we believe in the God who created you and created the moon, the sun , the earth and everything that exists.

why you see moon on some flags or mosques?
it's because we have a special month called Ramadan, this is the fasting month, and this is the month of wich the Quran came down on Muhammad. we can tell the beginning of this month by looking at the shape of the moon. if the moon has been shaped in a certain way then that's an indication that this month has started. this month is special to muslims. and it's not like those liars who misguided people away from islam say that we worship the moon, thats just one of the lie against Islam.

who is Jesus?
God sent Moses with the torah, when jewish mislead the way. God sent Jesus born as a miracle for a sign to the children of Israel that he is sent by God. Jesus to God is just like Adam, God says Be! and it will Be!. and God supported Jesus with the holy spirit which called "Ruh Al-Qudus" in the Quran to assist him with his prophecy and to leave no excues for why the children of Israel too stubborn to believe.
Jesus is an honor servant to God just like Moses, Abraham, Muhammad, and all the prophet of God.
take a look at this just so u can know:

The word Islam means peace. The word Muslim means submit, specifically to the One God. Muslims believe in the One God of prophet Adam, Noah, Jesus, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Lot, Aaron, Joseph, etc. God is greater than can be described or imagined, so no images or divinity is given to any one other than the One God. Prophet Jesus was not abandoned and placed on the cross, it was Judas. We believe prophet Jesus will return, but not as a prophet since prophethood ended with Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and he will be with al-Mahdi who is the 12th descendant of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Reference is made of this in the Bible in Genesis ~And from the seed of Ishmael I will create a great nation and from him 12 righteous descendants will I give. There are a million more prophesies and conspiracies. For example how Parclytis which means Ahmad (Muhammad) is 'mistakenly' mistranslated from the Aramaic (sister language of Arabic) of prophet Jesus as the Holy Spirit.

They believe in only one God... Allah.
They have talked about Jesus as being a great prophet but in one place the Quran says he never existed. Jesus Himself never claimed to be a prophet in any way nor did any of his followers after the crucifixion.
Muslims believe that Muhammad(sp) was God's last prophet and they call him THE prophet. They are not looking for a messiah. The Jews are still waiting for their Messiah and the Christians believe Jesus was the Messiah.

A muslim means one who submits to the will of God, be it christian, jew, or muslim. There is only One God, the God of Abraham the father of both jews and arabs, and his name in arabic is Allah. the moon is taken as a time measurement for the islamic months, analogous to the sun calendar. Islam has honoured Mary, the mother of Jesus, as above women of all nations, and Jesus as one of the mightiest messengers of God. Most of the islamic faith details Moses, Jesus, Noah, Abraham, Mary, Joseph. The quran and the prophet Mohamed have been positively identified in the bible, tho many christians hide the fact to demote islam.

The Islams only worship the same God that Christians and Jews recognize, but the big thing that Islam is recognized for is the teachings of a prophet named "Muhammad" (Muh-Haum-ud). The Islamics revere Muhammad like Christians revere Jesus. They believe that he was sent from God and His teachings and deeds are recorded in the "Hadith".

Yes muslims believe in one god.

The cross is not a religious symbol that they recognize in their own faith.

They believe that Jesus is a prophet the same way their prophet is Muhammed. They do not believe Jesus is the son of god.

Do a search on the net on islamic faith...there are many sites.

Good Luck

i would definitely believe the muslims for one. and also if you're familiar with quran, it has the old testament, just like the bible and the torah. all three of those religions believe in the same god. the difference is in who the savior is. christians believe it's jesus. muslims believe it's muhammad and jews believe the savior hasn't come yet.
