The other day I was in a fast food chain and ordered a chicken sandwich without tomato and a regular french fry. When I asked for ranch sauce they asked me for 16 cents to pay for it. Now my question is, when we see a sandwich advertised with everything on it and then ask that something be taken off wouldn't that mean they owe us a discount on that sandwich? I am thinking that $4.50 is the price with everything that is pictured on it. So, I am confused about this. They act like we are asking alot when we want something added but they dont blink an eye when we want something removed. I asked for no tomatoe so wouldnt that have payed for the ranch sauce? Please tell me what you think.

Just so you all know, I am a over the road trucker and usually have buy food from whatever chain of fast food is at the truck stop. Every now and then I can sit and eat at thier mediocre restuarant. lol. I get home every 4 weeks and dont eat out.

burger king- have it your way. When i was 16 and sweated in the back of a greasy fast food place with fryers all around at min wage i got po'd when i had to make a special sandwich other kids may have done bad things in retaliation. be warned. I'm just trying to help you. if you don't want tomatoes just pick em off. There's a reason these kids work at mcdonalds and not the gap.
If they had to deducted money for all the things they'd need alot more buttons and it'd be too difficult for us gap store rejects.

You are kind of right, but to do what you ask would make the already slow "Fast" food places even slower. Imagine a different price for every combination of toppings.
Plus they probably have the usual toppings sandwitch premade, so they have to make a special one for you. That is more labor which you should have to pay for. At $7.00 per hour and about 2 minutes to make your special sandwitch that's an extra $0.23 you owe for making a special sandwitch. LOL
Just pay the 16 cents and don't wory about it.

They price the sammies "loaded." Anything you want off of it is profit in their pockets. (This kills me when I order a meat-and-bread only burger for my kids!)
Now, had you asked for Ranch to be spread on your sammie, it might woudl have been free, if they have it open. Truth is, they have to buy the little portion-control Ranch dressings, and those are only covered in cost when you buy chicken nuggets or a salad, more than likely. Since you didn't get either, you had to pay.
Hope you got an extra drink refill for the road.

Send an email to the store's head office. Tell them the story your wrote here.
You just may get an apology and complimentary coupons sent to you.
It's worth a try !
I do agree, they should not charge for toppings/sauces.
Good Luck

I would write, phone or e-mail the head of the chain where you ate and ask for an explanation. Whatever restaurant it was, google the name and go to their website to find how to contact them.

They make sandwich the same way over and over all the time. It should actually cost more to deviate from that process. Remember labor costs more.

That's an excellent question. Try asking the home office of this place you visited. I'm curious to hear the answer they give.
I never thought about it!!
