I'm in the process of having a tattoo removed. I've had 3 treatments. The last treatment I had hurt a lot worse than the other two, and the nest day when I woke up and took off the banage, the WHOLE tattoo is a giant blister. It's so big that I'm afraid if I move my ankle the wrong way it's going to pop. I called the doctors, and they said that it's normal, and to just keep it covered. This doesn't sound right to me, any ideas or comments?

The removal of a tattoo with a laser is a heat and abrasion process. It probably feels like a burn, too. The body's natural response is to blister the skin to cushion it. The blister can be drained, but do not remove all of the skin until it dries out.

Given a few days, the blister will receed or drain on its own. Keeping the bandage on it will keep it under control and away from becoming infected.

If you are having it removed with lasers this is normal, just keep it covered. It is normal for it to blister.
