If you mean get them to STOP snoring, you may have an option, if you can afford it. I started waking up in the middle of the night, gasping for breath. I was snoring terribly, and I was extremely tired all the time, even after a full night's sleep. I was sent to the sleep lab at our local hospital, and they determined I have sleep apnea, which means I stop breathing many times every night. It is not curable, but it may be treated by using a CPAP machine, which uses a mask to keep a continuous flow of air going into your lungs. If you don't mind looking like an elephant when you wear it, it works wonders. You can also help limit your problems by losing weight--obesity seems to trigger it more.

I assume that you meant to say stop snoring. The most common cause of snoring is an obstructed airway. Your spouse should see a nose and throat specialist. It is possible that the uvula is too long and is obstructting the airway when laying down. It can be surgically shortened(in office out-patient procedure).

You DONT WANT him/her to snore. It is NOT a good thing for him/her. They will loose sleep like as in sleep apnea and also time on thier lives. If youre not used to sleeping without some one snore get a one of those environment things with white noise, ocean, sound bird, rain sounds etc. Then but it on white noise.

Snoring is a sign of apnea and apnea can be a life threatening condition. The person quits breathing in their sleep with this. So why would you want to jeopardize your spouses life?
