Proof of the Bible being the word of God is all the prophesies,

(I'm sorry, I find this to be absolute bull sh*t, but people who believe the Bible is the word of God claim this . . . so in the spirit of the me and Ludd trying to be born again christians, I just thought this would be something that I would bring up, since christians do. It hasn't converted me, but again, this is an expiriment.) ( I can't defend this prophesy thing cause its nonsense, but they do.)

The prophecies that validity the divinity of Jesus by the christians are the same that the Jews use to deny that Jesus was the messiah. Does that tell you how much reliable they are?

I found some godly inspired message in the Da Vinci (pbuh) code, "People see what they want to see".

You sound like a born again darwinist. Or an evolved again darwinist would be a more proper description?

The majority of verses that Christians drag out and claim to be prophecy, are no such thing. The Psalms are not prophecies, they are songs of praise and thanksgiving. The five books of Moses are not prophecy, they are simply the story of how Israel's 12 tribes came to be, and the collected hero-stories of their culture. There are prophetic books, of course--Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.--but they are all prophecies about Israel and their various enemies, not Christians and their pagan man-god savior. The Jewish savior was to be a powerful man who would lead Israel to victory over their enemies and make Israel boss over all the world, not some sissy preaching goodness and mercy and then getting nailed to a cross. A crucifixion is never even mentioned anywhere in all the prophetic books.

Christians don't even know what a prophecy is. They think it means finding a verse in the New Testament and matching it up to a verse in the O.T., then saying, "Look, it's a prophecy!" They believe this because it is what their pastors have taught them. It never occurs to them to check the context of the scripture and see if he's telling the truth or not--and chances are, he's not.

A lot of the prophesies were about the coming of Prophet Muhammad, not Jesus. There were many about Jesus, but many others attributed to him were speaking about Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Bible is word of man, word of God, and word of prophets altogether. It has some truth, some fallacy, some intentional, some by good intentions. The Bible tells how Abraham traveled to Bacca (modern day Maccah), and left his son Ismail, who is the patriarch of the family of Muhammad. The prophet will be like Moses- attributed to Jesus- no similarities between the two, but identical to Muhammad. When Jesus leaves he will send the comfortor (Muhammad- who attests to him). Isaiah says in the Herbrew text (name taken out in English verison) His lips are like rubies, he repeats what is told to him (Quran) oh Muhammad.

This is a far more interesting topic- look into it.

we are random. Proof of this is in an experiement with flaws. The fingerprints for this are all over in nature. Don't you believe? The fact is that science has a degree of faith associated to it. Right now there is no solid disproof of God, nor is there solid disproof of "evolution theory". So what are you going to believe. It all requires a certain amount of faith, but it is unscientific to discount other possibilities without a firm disproof.

I'm not sure here I'll check for fingerprints (besides my own) on The Holy Bible that I bought. And I love Jesus too!

Actually there were more accurate prophecies outside the Bible than recorded in it. Nostradamus was outside the Bible reference as he was considered radical in his day. Some of his prophecies have come true...but IMO they are defined to fit the poetry rather than outlined in it.

Michaelangelo predicted flying machines and astronomy sightings with accuracy.

Copernicus was a visionary as well.

I'm with bettierage: want the DNA test. Also, perhaps a "graphic novel" version of the Bible would put the whole issue in perspective?

Yes. If you compare the hand-writing on the stone tablets to the writing in the ancient manuscripts they match up. Both the stone tablets and the manuscripts have been destroyed so there is no way to validate this claim, but if you have faith then it is true.

I read a story in the National Enquirer. It is printed material. But for some reason, I didn't believe that either.
