yes you can i brought back some ornamental daggers and shorts swords back last year. as long as it's going in the hold it's fine:)

I would recommend ringing the airline you intend to use,plus to be on the safe side contact either the British Embassy or Customs & Excise.

my brother came back to japan with one, and he looks muslim and this was right after the whole bombing thing. i don't see why it should be a problem as long as you declare it.
