does your tiel hiss when you're around her only? or does she hiss even when there's nothing near her?
Chances are since you just got her yesterday, she's still not sure of her new environvent, and anything will trigger a 'hiss' which is a way that the cockatiel use to fend of potential threat if she can't get away. Let her settle down for a few days and just talk to her softly next to her cage. Keep an eye on her though to see if she's getting better.

They will hiss when they're frightened or angry. Since your bird is new in your home, he's probably viewing you as a predator and is trying to tell you to back off. It'll take him a little while to realize that you don't want to eat him! Give him some space, but keep talking to him and whistling with him; take it slow and he'll come around.
We've had ours for about 6 weeks. He loves to chit-chat with us and has demanded that sort of attention from the get-go, but he's just now getting comfortable with physical interaction. He hissed a lot more in the first couple of weeks and hardly does it at all now.

When I hear that hissing sound I go save him from the conure. His turf has been invaded by the big mean bird from across the hall. Or I will have to save him from the big mean conure because he invaded the counres cage and the conure is going to eat him. The hissing is for defence.

There's nothing wrong with her. They make this hissing noise if they're afraid or angry and they sneeze to clear their nasal passages. She needs to get used to her new environment. You need to spend time with her and take her out, talk to get her used to your voice and gradually get her used to you holding her.

Cockatiels are like parrots, well they are. They like to mimmic sounds around them. Its completely natural, if it gets annoying, you might want to keep it away from outside sounds.
