You gave you dog a big ham bone. When a dog get a big soft bone (ham, chicken, turkey) they will have white poo. Don't give you dog pork, or poultry bones. They are too soft and they can splinter. If the bone had splintered it could have poked a hole in her insides (don't worry it doesn't sound like it did that). Her poo was hard like cement because it was all bone and it was the color of the bone. As for the dog going on the carpet, she probably tried to tell you and you missed it. We have all done that. From now on stick to getting beef bones for your dog. You can buy them at the grocery stores, beef soup bones.

The white cement type stool is from eating the bone. The bone is calcium and other minerals and when she moved her bowels she passed off the digested bone material. I have Shepherds and they love the big marrow bones. They ingest the whole bone and have the same kind of stool the next day. Bones that are not cooked are easily broken down. Cooked bones get brittle and cause the problems in the gut due to splintering. Your dog is a Dobie and she has powerful jaws, she ground that bone up and passed off the waste. If she is not showing any signs of G.I. problems and is eating o.k. she will be fine.
Wolves eat bones, skin, fur, feathers and meat
and do just fine. It's when the bones are cooked and brittle that causes the damage.

Had my dog on phenobarb for years and never saw a difference in poo, but maybe my dog is different?
I'd put a call in to the vet.
Also keep an eye on what she's eating... did she get into anything really bad or toxic the day before?
She probably messed on the rug because she isn't feeling well. She didn't mean to.

The poop was probably the fragments of bone that she chewed up a couple of days ago. The reason why she went on the carpet is that as soon as the poop with all the bone fragments got all the way down to the poop hole it was so irritating that she couldn't hold it any longer.
Don't feed your dog bones. Get her a Nylabone instead.

She is probably constipated ( white, hard and dry stool) and didnt know she really had to go until she did. But in the future dont give her any more bones that she can actually eat. Ask your vet for a laxitive (dont give her a human one though)

NEVER EVER EVER GIVE A DOG A BONE!!!! OMG, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! Bones splinter inside a dogs stomach and will puncture the lining and may even kill your dog. Only give dogs bones purchased from pet stores - and even some of those say not to let the dog eat the actuall bone. Stick with natural rawhide.

Check her urine, is it very dark? If it is, get her to a vet immediately!! Those are both signs of liver problems, not something to mess with. Otherwise, it may just be the bone passing through her system. The main thing though is that bones may make stools hard, they rarely make them a pale white. Please, please, take her to the vet ASAP!!

The bone was probably it. Never give a dog pork bones. They tend to splinter and they dont digest them well as you can see.
The next poo should be normal or close to it.
