Hi!

My three children were all given the chicken pox vaccine. (They are 12, 11 and 9 1/2 years old now.)

My youngest developed shingles 4 weeks after the shot.

My middle child got chicken pox in 4th grade (10 years old) and it was extremely mild. He had pox marks on the trunk of his body, face and scalp - there were none in his mouth or on his private areas. It lasted about 2 weeks.

We used Aveeno oatmeal baths and anti-itching cream that can easily be purchased at any pharmacy!

Hope this helps! (-:

Well, I'm not a health expert, but I might have had the same problem. My brother and I both had vaccines when we were little, but we recently got red spots, very similar to chicken pox. it could be, like in our situation, that the spots are not chicken pox at all. If it is what my brother and I experienced, it will last about a week. But, whatever it is, I hope he feels better soon! :)
