Zebra finches are small grass finches that are native to Australia. They eat mostly seeds but also benefit from egg food, sprouts and fresh veggies. They are very easy to breed and is often harder to get them to stop breeding than it is to get them started. They are very good parents to their offspring.
They are very hardy and can be housed in outdoor aviaries if properly acclimated.
Zebra finches usually live about 5 years with proper diet but I have heard of breeders who's birds live as long as 10 years.
Hope that helped.

If you have one, then you already know, they are small birds. I always wanted one as a kid, I think they are pretty. But yes, it is a bird in the finch family.
