I've been asking questions about my hybrid dog. Now I have another question!
When a dog eats grass, it throws up. I just went outside a cupple of minutes ago and the dog threw up but it looks like foam! What's that mean? Why does it appear he's throwing up foam? Does this have anything to do with his Revolution medication?

Each time my dog has an upset stomach she eats grass then a little while later she throws up the foamy stuff. Dogs eat gras because it helps them throw up, they can not digest the grass

Dogs eat grass because it's a purgative. For whatever reason, the dog needs to empty it's stomach, and eating grass will cause a dog to vomit. Foamy throw up is gross, but if this was an isolated incident, the dog's probably fine.......a dog's stomach bile comes up foamy--though if you have any doubts, don't rely on advice you find here, take him to the vet.

If he's constantly eating grass, throwing up his food, listless, or just doesn't act right for more than a day or two, take him to the vet.

This is not an emergency that needs you to take your dog to the Vet immediately as other suggest. The yellow liquid and foam is from stomach bile. The grass upsets their stomachs. They might eat the grass because they feel sick and want to vomit, or they eat grass for fun and it makes them vomit (like my dog likes to do).

The vomiting could also be from a flea and tick proventitive. One of my dogs gets diarrhea and vomiting from any fipronil containing flea and tick prevention.

Only let your dog outside if supervised to keep him/her from eating grass. Keep a close eye on it next month when you apply a flea medication and they watch for a reaction and contact a vet if your pet does have a reaction or just switch brands but NEVER use Harts products! They kill!

Mostly all dogs do that. Mine has done it a few times too. It just means the dog is having an upset stomache from either eating too muvh...Eating food he doesn't like...or eating the wrong kind of food. Dog will go outside eat grass and then throw it up most of the time.

Dogs eat grass to clean out their immune system. The foam is just an aftermath of it throwing up. No need to worry.

no don't worry-my dog does the same-i don't think it has anything to do with the Meds

the foam is just the spit and everything mixed with the grass
it should look like that every time he eats grass and throws up

if it gets colored or if hes throwing up food with the grass call your vet

I've always heard that dogs eat grass because their stomach is upset and this makes them throw up whatever is upseting it. They always seem to feel better afterwards(kinda like us after a night of drinking). I have three dogs and they each do it occassionally and no one has ever died from it. but if he/she keeps doing it, see the vet.

Just cause I say this doesn't mean you should take my advice. Dogs eat grass when sick so they can throw up the illness. Maybe he just threw up his sickness. Still take him to the vet though.
