Newcastle Brown Ale, Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss, Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss, Harp, Tennant's, Guiness, Molson, Heineken, Red Stripe..there are sooooooooooo many good ones. Since you are having a party why not make everyone bring a six pack --just tell them it can't be something common like Miller or Budweiser (if you are in the US)
My favourite is Leinenkugels' Berry Weiss.

you can do some of the basics, icehouse, miller light bud and budlight. In all actuality what somebody considers the best beer is each person's own opinion. why not get som SoCo(Southern Comfort). It doesn't have to jjust be beer, jsut make it an alocoholic party and jsut ask people to bring what they like. You might just be happily surprised and ebnd up w/ a wide variety since everyone has different tastes

I haven't tasted every beer in the world, but...
I've been drinking a nice little pilsner from Texas called Shiner Bock.... its good stuff

Another favorite of mine is "Purple Haze" from abita brewery.

I don't know how to spell it but Warsteiner is a nice light German brew that I like.... also Heffeweisen is yummy ( a little cloudy though).

There are two popular websites which compute "best beer" based on averages from beer reviewers. Keep in mind that these sites lean heavily to people who enjoy strongly flavored beers. Many participants on these sites are brewers.

http://www.beeradvocate.com/

http://www.ratebeer.com/

Many of the top offerings are Stouts, IPAs (India Pale Ales) and occasionally very hard-to-find Belgian beers. You might want to sort by style and find highly-rated beers in categories you prefer.

If your guests will prefer the lighter flavors fo Pale Ales, Pilsners, German Lagers, Bitters, and Brown Ales, then sort by those categories and find ones that are exceptional.

Best of luck to you.
