Christianity kind of messes up on this bit of theology. According to them, there was a war in heaven between Satan and God, and Satan got cast to Earth. At the same time, they say that heaven is a wonderful, joyous place of eternal bliss that we should all strive to attain. I posit that these two concepts are incompatible. It means that there is sin and rebellion in heaven, and if there was one war, there might be others that Christians don't know about. Why bother going to a place that is no better than Earth??
And yes, the word "lucifer" does NOT refer to Satan at all. It is a LATIN word, not a Hebrew name, and was used to translate the words "morning star," or "son of the morning." It is actually a reference to the planet Venus, which is very bright and can be seen in the early dawn sky; it precedes the sun and so is called the "bringer of light" and similar titles in many cultures. This title is found in Isaiah ch.14, in a prophecy about the king of Babylon. It has nothing to do with Satan, but is a poetic reference to how the king aspired to greatness and would be cast down to the dirt. Christians take it literally, but if they would actually READ the entire chapter--and the one preceding it--they would see that the context can in no way refer to an angelic being. It is all about Israel and Babylon. Funny how Christians always accuse us skeptics of taking things out of context, when they do it all the time, in order to make scriptures mean what THEY want them to mean, and not what they actually say!

This is what I think.Angels before the fall of Lucifer had free will. That's why Luficer could choose to disobey God.But after that angels do not have that free will.So now the angels in heaven cannot choose to sin to sin against God.I don't know about humans in heaven but I doubt we would have free will in heaven because by then Satan and his angels would have been destroyed.

First Angels are not human according to thier lovely bible and were created one by one By GOD him self. GOD can't make mistake. SO the only option is it was by design. Now GOD would not lie to ppl give them only one choice of good right?
SO he had to create devil and hell him self to give us second option. Free will must work at least with 2 options. WHile every saying Lucifer was thinking fo him self too much and wanted to take on GOD's property abd blablabl. Amasing Lucifer just never read the bible otherwise he would know like every Christian that you can't defeat god. Does not get more pathetic than this.
In other words GOD design himthe way so he can fail. GOD's gives him domain over the hell ( according to bible) And GOD uses Devil constantly to prove Christians really love GOD and not jsut saying... blalblalblab... In ANy case since Lucifer and Hell are creations fo GOD they are perfect in same way as heaven.
+ and -. Now if you look at the concept that Christians are saying heaven is totaly sinless its wrong , since not only lucifer but others angels rebel. WHich means who ever goes to heaven still has a chance to sin. Theoreticly heaven is not a garantee for permanent existence without sin. It was introduced before and it may apear there at any time GOD decide and if any1 tells you , its not what will be there. Just don't listen. THey are no GOD's them self so naturaly they would know if heaven will never re-introduce the posibility of Sin.
Therefore LUcifer is by design. Lucifer is perfect and right hand of GOD to prove that others still love GOD. Therefore heaven may be good but posibility of sin in heaven exists as bible tells us.
Therefore GOD is true coz bible says so . And bible is true coz bible says so. Circular fun.

Lucifer was cast from heaven along with 1/3 of the angels (his followers) when he tried to overthrow God. I would have to say that there is some kind of free will.

Lucifer was Nebuchadnezzar, not the devil.
Regardless, if there can be no sin in heaven, then how did the devil sin in order to cause the fall?
If there used to be sin in heaven, but now there isn't, then there can no longer be free will in heaven - the one thing that god supposedly values even over the fate of his children.

lucifer use to be an angel but he wanted to overthrow God, so God kicked him out of Heaven and he took 1/3 of the angels that was in heaven with him to hell. Lucifer is in Hell. No sin is going to be in Heaven. Sin is unclean and no unclean thing is going to be with God.

The Bible clearly states that, despite his fall, Lucifer still has full access to God in Heaven.
A) Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. 7 And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
B) To this very day, Satan appears periodically in front of God to speak slanderous lies about humanity, trying to trick God into taking retaliatory action against us. This is further explained in Revelation 12:10: "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down."
C) He will be prevented from entering God's presence just prior to Jesus' Second Coming: Revelation 12:7 "And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
I hope this helps. Peace and love in Jesus.

Sin can't exist in heaven, that's why heaven is empty. What's good for you is considered a Sin, what is considered a Sin is good for you. Just a way to keep us in check.
