Let's assume both teams have Christians and prayed in Jesus name.Would it be fair to say that God did not answer the prayers of one team if they lost the match?
PS Just so u know I'm a Christian.

my guess is that God's answer would be, stop worying about who wins and who looses, realize that I have made you with incredible talents and skills, use them and be thankful that I gave them to you.play ball

Well, if you're praying that you'll win you're praying for the wrong thing. Most times when your pray before a game it's for your team to play well and that no one gets hurt. So He would answer your prayer in that regard. I believe He gives you talents and gifts for your life here on earth to develop. But I really don't know what God is thinking when it comes to sports. He would just let us play and learn on our own. He wouldn't interfere and have a team win. What's the point in that? We are blessed and helped in our lives at certain times, but if He were to do everything for us we would never learn or grow.

I think its the wrong prayer to begin with. When I played in a Christian softball league, our prayers were for good sportsmanship, and for no injuries to happen. If someone prays for a win out of selfishness, my guess is that it will go unanswered. But thats just my guess of course.

I really don't think he'd concern himself with it. Does it bring Glory to him or his Son? Does it have anything to do with changing the human heart? Nope and nope. It's trivial and trite. Those prayers I sure would be considered "selfish" on either side of that equation, so I just can't see it as being an important issue.

I don't really think God would answer any of their prayers. He is too busy to deal with juvinille matters suchas a game. Not that he can't handle everything, just that I don't really think that matters much to him.

It's like that ageless question, can God make a rock so big he can't move it?

i don't think of God will opt for favorites for a events team, gamers can pray that they could carry out to the better of their expertise.. and in case your team wins you could thank God for the victory, for the sensation of winning, and in case your team loses you could thank God for the prospect to play contained in the game, the merely right adventure

I really don't believe that God intervenes in those instances. I do know that God can turn every situation for good. My best thought would be if he did intervene in a Game it would only be because he had some type of plan in mind.

According to the Bible, God answers ALL prayers. Our problem is accepting when He answers "No" or "Not yet". It becomes easier to deny His existence than to gracefully accept His plan for us - or our sports teams!

God would answer both teams, to one team the answer would be yes, to the other team the answer would be no.

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
